roach motels placed along the edges of the floor work wonders. just make sure the pest roaches CANNOT make contact with your pets. place your pet containers in a large pan filled with some water, think moat.

my colony is booming, it just outgrew its 10gallon tank. i keep them in the basement, in a cabinet, with a heat mat on one side of the floor, about 30 paper towel tubes standing up (all rubber banded together)
by all means do not disturb them for long periods of time. i will usually open them...
similar thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. one of my mantids decided she would chop a dubia in two, one half included the head and two legs the other half was the rest of it being devoured. the head and two legs part is still scrambling in my scorps cage as i type this.

ive done my own little experiment and i found that if kept in the right conditions every 3-5 weeks an adult female will produce anywhere from 10-20 nymphs. it takes roughly 3-4months for a nymphs to mature.

get powdered boric acid at any local walmart (sold as borax the roach killer) and sprinkle it in the windoesills and doorway into your spider room.
