Hey,
This keyboard is horrible, so be ready for some possible typos..
I know of only one recorded mating of H. paucidens. Sadly, I can't find the thread now, that's a drag.
Only advice I got is put a single pair in a large container with lots of hides and keep them well fed and cross...
I went to find the paper where the gestation period was listed, but I couldn't find it again. I did find a "Hadogenes sp" that was in parturition for 240 hours?
I'll look for the gestation period tomorrow I guess.

Hi,
Thaedion, as of right now Kovarik got rid of all the subspecies, which might of been a good thing as long as a bad thing.
Roach, telling the difference between H. spinifer and H. longimanus can be pretty hard. The only difference is a slight change in granulation on the...
Iheart, the gegstation peroid is rumored around 18 months. And can take 52 hours for the full birthing. At least, that's what I read somewhere. And I doubt there's been much more work on the genus.

Best answer to the question, really.
Is also a good point. To get H. xanthopus/fulvipes mixed up with P. imperator would be hard though. Red/yellow is a bit different then black. {D
Now for the H. swammerdami, I believe that most P. imperator being imported now would be dwarfed by the...

There's all the species since it was last updated, I suppose.
The Heterometrus wouldn't be what you're looking for, but the others would be good IMO.

Hi Dave,
I just reread part of Polis' Biology of Scorpions and learned that the telson is innervated, but it doesn't mention the aculeus.
"The fourth ganglion is a fusion of the fourth and fifth metasomal ganglia; from it's posterior border, a pair of nerves extends posteriorly, each...
Hi,
Those would be C. sculpturatus, if you're from the states at least. The two smaller ones look like they might of recently molted. Or they could be some Vaejovis species, but I doubt it.
The one on the far right looks like a female. The one farthest on the left is a sub-adult male if he...
Hey,
Congratulations! These are some beautiful scorpions.
They will survive very well, but it seems there is none in the United States right now. A friend of mine had several broods, and they went well. Wonder what happened to them..
Mike
Hey,
Once she gets close to giving birth she will stop eating as much and when she does give birth she probably won't eat much at all.
If the female eats the young it is because there is something wrong with how it is being kept or the mother is stressed.
Also, I would search for any info...
Hey
You should get some Heterometrus if you want some aggresive and communal scorpions. The ones I had would quickly strike if you got near them. Not only that, but I *believe* every species I had "hissed" which makes them that much cooler. They will be just as communal as Pandinus as well.
OR...
Sorry for bringing up an old post, but I got free time and I like to talk bout this cross breeding stuff time to time.
Too lazy to look up the actual papers from The Biology of Scorpions by Polis, but if anyone wants them I can get them.
There is 7 reports done by scorpilogists of different...
