Guess its off topic for this board, but has anyone seen Wayne the pain around or heard from him?
I started talking to him about getting some of these communal pedes from cottonsheep but havnt seen him on the boards since?
Hmm, anyone know where he's gone?
cheers,
Stu.
Yeah, nice T there,
I was after one of these fellas myself, a while ago I heard that Guy from giantspiders had bred some and was going to be selling them. They seem to have vanished from his web site though - anyone know what happened to them?
Maybe I'll get lucky and spot some at the BTS...
heh, cheers for the replies fellas - this was an old post of mine :)
Sadly the cingulata in question died about a month ago for unknown reasons.
He seemed to be doing a lot better over the past 6 months, eating well although still hidden 99.9% of the time.
He was about 4 to 5 inch long...
Nice photos of the moult :) hope your little fella is doing fine now.
I always like to see any of my T's moult, My girlfriend thinks im mad when I sit in front of a tank for hours on end watching the whole process, but it is intresting to watch. I even ended up turning up for work in the...
Spiral,
I'm not too educated on ID'ing T's But I'm sure a photo would help someone on here get you an anwer.
BTW, I'm guessing your a Pavement fan from your user name - nice one, one of my favourite bands of the past 15 years :)
cheers,
Stu.
yeah, welcome to the boards John,
As others said, don't worry about the webbing, I had my avic for a few months before he made his web - now he hardly ever comes out of it except when food is around, then he comes out in a flash.
Good luck with your little fella - I'm guessing your...
Nice photos - I enjoyed looking at those.
good luck with the breeding attempt too - Looking forward to seeing more photos.
Plus - I agree with what CM said, I really like the look of these T's but am not really into deep burrowers, a tank of soil isnt really all that interesting to keep is...
yeah, i'd never thought about the males growing faster - hopefully thats why I seem to have lots of male T's
I think I'll buy maybe 4 - 5 slings at a time like CM said - plus gives me a(nother) great excuse to have more T's in the house :)
Well I'm going to send this little fella down to...
My B. smithi had a bad moult a while ago - I had to help him get his back 2 legs out of his old skin.
The thing is the poor little fella wont eat - is this normal for smithi's or could this be a result of the bad moult.
As you can see in the pic his back 2 legs are a bit 'wonky' and he...
Well my usumbara was out and about last night - havnt seen him for a few weeks, he's been moulting into a mature male.
All my T's seem to be male, of all the ones I have big enough to sex they are all male - arghhh.
Anyone else find this or am I just incredibly unlucky to keep buying...
nice pics :)
2 of my tiny parahybana slings moulted last week when I was away, they grow so quick - cant wait till they get to a decent size.
how big is that fella now?
cheers,
Stu.
I didnt realize they could live THAT long after they matured - What sort of state is the male who had the postultimate moult in? Ive never kept a mature male, so my knowledge on this is gained from others or reading.
Does your postultimate moult male still have his pedepalps? from what I read...
for arboreal slings you could just glue that branch to the side and sit them with the 'lid' end at the bottom - that way you never have to disturb the slings webbing if they make a home at the top of the vial.
I had the same sort of thing (I think mine are wider though) for my H. gigas...
oh yeah,
and regarding life span, mature males dont live much longer than 12 months maximum I think after they mature.
get him a female so he can go out with a bang :)
cheers,
Stu.
Im not sure of the eating habits of mature male rosea, I know that the one I have has not mature though and has not eaten for months and months - as long as he has clean water and doesnt look like he is loosing too much weight he should be fine.
Does he have 'spurs' on his front two legs...
it sounds like he is a mature male.
When mature male T's build sperm webs which is maybe what your T is doing. They also start to wander around looking for a mate once mature which is maybe why your T seems so restless/climbing walls and all that.
cheers,
Stu.
I only have the one rosea and shes a real psycho.
Apart from rearing up if I go near the tank she doesnt do an awful lot though - she hasnt eaten for months and months.
I dont think I'd bother with any more rosies - although she did give me a taste for the more 'bitey' T's - although my...
