Everyone has pretty much said it all with regard to the visual appearance of your sling. I agree the sling looks like it has recently molted, not nearing a molt. However, I will add that I keep most of mine up on shelves and I have grabbed one down and opened it on accident while a T was on its...
I have a G. Pulchripes I acquired in April of 2012 at .75 inches. Since then it has molted 3 times and now is nearly 2 inches. I keep my room at 77 degrees all year round. In comparison to all the other species I have at the same temp and conditions it molts slower and the size difference...
My gbb sling is always hidden and runs if I go in my t closet. I wouldn't worry about the hiding however, I am curious about this feeding flap cut in the lid of the container you mentioned, you are securing this food flap right? If not I would suggest a piece of tape or something, the little guy...
Sounds like my Brachypelma albopilosum, thinking mine buried itself, hesitating to dig in there because it just molted not too long ago (2 weeks) and it has been known to come shooting out of a hole at rapid speed if disturbed!!! It has been buried the entire time I have owned it, however it...
My first 4 T's were Lasiodora parahybana eggs with leg's if anyone could have killed one it would have been me. I knew absolutely nothing when I got them, not by choice mind you,I was just kind of thrown into the hobby.
They are very hardy, grow exceptionally fast and eat like pigs, as said...
I understand not wanting to physically alter the animal, however it is for their benefit as well as yours. Spayed cats are less likely to develop breast cancer and will not be at risk for ovarian or uterine cancer. In addition to the many health benefits, spaying or neutering your cat ensures...
+ 1 to everything said about enclosures and size. When I first started keeping T's I thought the same things about the size and what I thought was going to make my T "happy". I thought jeez they cannot be happy sitting in those deli cups, truth is they don't care. A place to hide, something to...
I envy the fact that the vacuum sends your cat to another part of the house!! We have also been cleaning our home ferociously, out with the old, moving furniture reorganizing every orifice of our home all that great stuff... It needs to happen every so often, and I have a case of cabin fever so...
We got our loud scream meowing cat another cat to entertain it......the meowing ceased until the new cat started to meow. This may sound horrible but I Yell at the meowing cat, CAT NO! Then squirt it with a squirt bottle, the meowing usually stops, or it at least goes off to meow in another part...
Right, I saw one that was labeled H lividum bite, it was a guy repeatedly poking the T in its face with his hand, every time it would threat pose at him he would quick jerk his hand away. I thought go ahead guy your gonna let it bite you then lets see it.
Thats what I was thinking while watching, and honestly I am surprised he didn't get bit!! Youtube is flooded with tons of idiotic videos like this of kids and adults alike disrespectfully handling T's poking prodding and harassing them.... I think it is sad!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YSBgETQn18 no idea where else to post this but this kid and his buddy may be in the running for that award... This crap just makes me mad, he is lucky he didn't get bit or kill his T....
My Lp slings have decided to dig all of a sudden, they dig the center out of their deli cups, bury the water dish and create such a thin ledge of sub around the entire enclosure I have to shove some dirt back in the caverns so I can put the dish back in.
Just molted not too long ago, and she is an adult tarantula so I do not expect a molt anytime soon. I use ceramic planter saucers for my adult T's so it is a fairly decent size, no web or anything around it, I checked after the first time it emptied so fast. It happened again last night I filled...
LOL no but I thought about saying well take this here P.orn spider... I just kind of shook my head when I saw the label, showed my fiance. When we left we had a laugh.... That might have to be its name... IDK
I did have to take the pic at a bit of an angle, my camera is :poop: and didn't want to let me zoom in or focus on such a small area.

I have to so I can get a good look at what I am buying half the time the enclosures they are kept in...
Here is a ventral, best I could do of the Poecilotheria rufilata we measured DSL of this little one was just under 1.5 inches. My camera for some reason will not let me zoom in super close....
Not to thread hijack, but does anyone ever notice their T's chugging water??? I filled my cobalt's water dish last night, it was all gone this morning, I filled it again, we got back from being out of town and it was empty again... It usually takes more than a week to evaporate, so what does...
