    Let's compare wishlists!

The giant, gaping hole in my modest collection right now is an L. parahybana. One of those ones everyone should own but I keep putting off. Also need to give an S. cal another try. My first I had for a long time, matured and died (he was a favorite) and I had a smaller one that passed in a bad...

    Fun tarantula molt jewelry!

I made something similar a couple weeks ago! I made a necklace instead of earrings and used a fang from a molt and stuck some little crystals in the vial to give it a little sparkle. Great idea!

These are hilarious (and somewhat disturbing). Thanks for sharing, guys. :)

The Most Ridiculous Thing... some people...

I found the most insane ad in my area for an "orange haired tarantula". Supposedly it is "defanged" and lives in an 80 gallon tank (ummm.... lol). Looks like a MM G. pulchra or G. porteri to me... So tell me, what is the most ridiculous thing you've seen in a classified ad for a tarantula? I...

    Concerning smithi Behaviour

So today I noticed something rather strange happen to my 5 inch adult female B. smithi. She was sitting on top of her half log hide contentedly, when suddenly she tipped and fell on her side (only about a two inch fall) and remained on her side for several seconds. I walked over to take a second...

    S. Calcaetum do you like them ?

Easily my favourite species. Fascinating to watch and beautiful in an understated way. If you are ready for them, I'd totally recommend the species.

    For all Rosie Owners!!! :)

YUP. Once I left a superworm in with my juvie RCF and in the morning I found her eating it in the hole that she had dug to catch it!

    Tarantulas and people's reactions

I think the reaction that bothers me the most are the ones along the lines of "if one of those ever got close to me I'd kill it". So disrespectful and rude. I usually respond by saying that I feel the same way about cats/fish/dogs/whatever they have and enjoy (I don't really feel that way, just...

What do you tell urgent care or ER when you go for a T bite?

The Snark, thanks for the white paper info. I don't anticipate getting bitten any time soon, but I do everything I can to be prepared.

    Favorite Species

'm totally in love with my S. calceatum. She is very active, often on display, and attractive to look at. Commands respect like no other T I've encountered. I'll definitely have at least one of these in my collection at any given time.

    Interesting H. gigas pictures

Managed to grab some cool pictures of my 4.5 inch H. gigas female taking a swim this morning. She usually sticks to her burrow during the day, but at night and in the early morning I sometimes catch her going for a dip in her pool. If I leave a super worm in her pool when I go to bed I sometimes...

    New T's coming!

They have arrived! Well, brought the new little ones home yesterday! All three are doing great. Rehoused the H. gigas into her new enclosure with a bigger pool to swim in, which she immediately loved. I'm leaving the slings (H. lividum and H. triseriatus) in their vials until they get a bit...

    Pretty Display T

My B. Smith is by far my best display T. Big, colorful, docile, hardy, and just about always out in the open. Also an awesome eater.
