Scorps for Sale these days..Am I missing something or are we missing variety?

Hi Michiel, Are you sure that Venezuela is open? To my knowledge it hasn't been open for decades. We had an extremely difficult time trying to get permits. Jeremy

Scorps for Sale these days..Am I missing something or are we missing variety?

For most countries, a hobbyist can't get a permit. They are scientific permits only. The US is an exception. As long as you stay out of protected areas, you can collect. I don't know what permit this European contact was going to purchase, but they simply do not exist. All the Mexican...

Scorps for Sale these days..Am I missing something or are we missing variety?

Who says legal???? All CA, Caribbean and SA countries require collecting permits. I highly doubt the species in Europe were collected and exported legally. Jeremy

when is the best time to hunt for scorps?

It is really a waste of time to plan a multi-day or week trip if the moon is full. It is also misleading because if you do to an area on a full moon and only find a few V. spinigerus, you might not go back to the area again. But, if you did the same area when conditions are perfect you find...

when is the best time to hunt for scorps?

What time did the moon rise? If it rises really early (during the afternoon) or really late, then you will still see activity. I have done 15 or so scorpion fieldtrips and always plan my trips around the moon. You may always see something, but the rare things and numbers are better when it is...

when is the best time to hunt for scorps?

There is really only 2-3 weeks a month that will work. You want no or little moon. Also, activity tends to drop after midnight. Jeremy

    Hadrurus obscurus?

That is H.a.pallidus, no doubt about it. There are some cross H.a.a and H.a.p that look like obscurus. H. obscurus look like spadix except it has the slight cresent. I have also noticed most specimens have a light colored line bisecting the tergites. If you want to image trichs, the best...
