Ok she was fine earlier today. I just looked in the tank and saw her like this. The last time she ate was Sept 1rst so I figured she was close to a molt or just fasting. Her abdomen is fairly large also. She barely moves when I touch her with a paint brush. She seems weak and sluggish with...
Im thinking of completely switching to roaches for my blondi also. I purchased 6 (hissers) at a reptile convention about 5 months ago (got 2 left) and they are so easy to take care of. Also they don't smell comapred to crickets and so far none of them have died of natural causes. Roaches are cool.
I have an adult female T blondi and its butt is bald too. She hasn't accepted any food for 38 days now. Does anyone know when the butt will turn dark if shes preparing to molt, because it looks like it hasn't changed colors to me yet.:?
I had a similar size tank for my first emp/scorpion. Maintenance is just gonna be that much harder. I put my emp in a 2.5 gallon now and its doing fine. It finds its food faster, much easier to keep moist, and much easier to change the substrate.
So i just got this scorp about 2 weeks or so ago. Any tips on when I should give it water? The person who sold it told me to put a bottle cap of water in the corner about once or twice a month? Is this right? I don't want to kill the beautiful scorpion from over doing it.
your right. my emp once, and only once managed to grasp the top part of a 10 inch tank. I think he did it by using the caulking on the side or somehow just got lucky witht the way the enclosure was set up. Honestly I have no clue but I know I saw it happen...
So I have been searching the boards and using google but can't find any solid understanding on humidity levels for a yellow fattail? Is keeping it at a constant 35% ok? One website said 60% and another said something like 40-50% or something.. cana nyone that keeps yellow fattails tell me what...
I read somewhere to wet the top of sand substrate to help it pack better. I heavily misted it to just get the top damp. Anyone know how long it would take to dry to about 35 40 percent humidity? It looks like its dry but I am not 100 percent sure if it is all the way to the bottom
I can't find it at Petsmart or Petco around here. They only carry red, white, grey, green, and purple. I just figured Id post in here because I'd get more replies
Damn am I glad to live in California! Next month on the 23rd is the North American Reptile Breeders Conference & Trade Show! Woo Hoo! New inverts without paying shipping;P Anyone else going ??
Thanks everyone for all the constructive input I really appreciate it! I’m working on a deal with Brandon right now for a desert hairy! Can't wait to get it!!!
I have few scorps but none that are hot (3 H.Laoticus, 1 emp, and about18+ H.Laoticus 2nd instar scorplings...plus an adult T.Blondi). I'm not looking to bother or pester whichever scorp I end up getting; I just want something a bit on the other end of the spectrum when it comes to active...
I don't know if anyone will reply since this is off topic from what I originally posted but here we go-
My future purchase will either be an Androctonus australis or desert hairy! I really want something that is active and aggressive with good size! So far from my forum reading it seems that...
I want to get a desert species scorp real soon and am planning on getting this small tank that measures 12 x 8 x 12, length, width, and height respectively. Anyhow I know that I should keep the temps in the mid to high 80s and figured I need some sort of heat source. Any tips on heating...
I ended up just letting it go... I wish I could get my hands on more roaches without having to mail order them, only have one hisser left. I don't mind using crickets, although I just don't like having to look for the ones she doesn't eat as they hide all throughout her cage. And putting them in...
