I've been getting into conifers recently and I just received a pretty cool fir cultivar in the mail today. I also have a few spruce cultivars in my yard I have planted. I may post pictures of those soon.
Gah I'm worrying again and I need you guys to debunk it. A day ago I rearranged my room and put all my T's on a little shelf. I noticed that a drawer near the shelf has a slight odor to it and I am afraid it is made out of cedar or some other toxic wood. The odor is just barely noticeable in the...
Are you saying I will kill the spider from stressing it so much or I am freaking out over nothing? Just want to clarify.
Also what do you guys think about the new setup? Much better than my desk I never actually use :p
I set the thermostat in my house to 70 so the room is warm now without the heater. I rearranged my room so the T will have to get used to the minor environmental changes (it's not like I rehoused it so it will not be much stress I hope).
I have lost quite a few due to making minor mistakes such as with my first T (G. rosea) I fed it wild caught food which I beleive caused it to die two weeks after buying it. I also have lost slings and one to old age which makes me more prone to getting worried about the ones I have but I just...
How attached are you guys to your spiders? How far would you be willing to go to save them if one of them is sick? I am always worried about mine but I don't know if my level of attachment is normal :(
I turned on the heater and this is concerning. The GBB went in the corner like usual but I noticed that there is some condensation forming in the space that the GBB is sitting. I am concerned that the tarantulas blood could be evaporating from the lack of humidity. Correct me if I am...
It is often without the heater on, it gets down to 65 or 64 at the worst but if the spider is getting stressed by the heat I won't use the heater. My other spiders are not moving around much either even with the heat on so I don't if know it makes a difference.
I sprayed some water in the GBB's enclosure on the back wall and in my LP's cage to increase the humidity. The GBB has been acting lethargic recently which I assume is because it's winter.
This year is the first year I have started using a ceramic heater to heat my room where my T's are kept. Whenever the temperature gets above 75 F, my GBB tends to move towards the top of its enclosure and sit in the corners of its enclosure sometimes. One day the T acted very erratically like it...
