I hope they will be ok

I bought my first sling from Jamies, her packaging was easily the best I have ever seen for shipping ANYthing. Mine came right on time, but I imagine even if it had been over a week late the sling would have still been 100% ok.

    Feeding help?

My 3/8" G. pulchripes seems very happy with cut in half mealworms at the moment, they are still wiggly when I drop it in and he pounces on them with a lot more feistiness than you would expect from such an itty bitty thing!

Versicolor putting coco fiber in her mouth??

Well she had passed by the time I had come home from work this morning, there was white liquid coming from her front and back end and she was just sort of slumped over. :'( I only had her for a couple months but I will really miss her. I don't think I will try having another sling again for...

Silliest T advice you've ever heard at a pet store

Lol, I was just at my local petco a couple days ago and the employees who know me pretty well at this point immediately dragged me back to see their gorgeous new rcf G rosea! She walked right into the girls hand and we all sat around talking about how pretty and nice she was! I am lucky they...

    First t fatality.sadly my actaul first t

I am sorry! *hugs* I am dealing with dks in my versicolor sling right now so I really know your pain. People give me the same crap when I am upset over my pet rats dying too, they just don't get it.

Versicolor putting coco fiber in her mouth??

mmfh, the only thing I can think of is maybe a cat hair slipped into the enclosure or something like that (she had been sleeping up on the tarantula shelf, which she can no longer do). I was not even the one who put the frontline on my cats, my husband did. He won't get within a few feet of the...

Versicolor putting coco fiber in her mouth??

So I have been reading a few places that there may be safer flea control products to use around my T's, is there any way I can verify this? For instance I found http://atshq.org/boards/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=28682&p=207177 but it is just forum conjecture with no real proof... I really do not...

Versicolor putting coco fiber in her mouth??

I am looking into other options for flea control for now, is it weird that my 3" B. boehmei seems completely fine? He is eating and fairly active and not showing a single symptom. He was on the same shelf as her and the crickets that all died, and had eaten one of the crickets the same time she...

Versicolor putting coco fiber in her mouth??

Silliest T advice you've ever heard at a pet store

When I was 17 I got my first T from the local pet shop, it was a H. Lividum. They had it and an OBT in a critter keeper with no water dish, bone dry on gravel!! They told me it was perfectly ok to keep them that way >.< (luckily I already knew better having done at least a little research before...

Versicolor putting coco fiber in her mouth??

So I have been posting on how my baby versicolor is ill with dks like symptoms, most likely from pesticide poisoning from my cats frontline. I have been following the tarantula keepers guide on having her in an ICU and changing it out every couple days, she is now on her "dry out" day back in...

    Project Complete

I am a bit curious how much you spent to make all that, did you have to custom make the lighting system or was it something pre made that you installed? My husband and I both think it looks epic though, great job!

Crickets all died, worried about tarantulas...

I am not sure if I can avoid pesticides though, my dog is severely allergic to fleas a single bite and he is covered in hives. My cats are indoors only but the dog always has the potential for picking them up while out on walks. I keep all of them on a monthly preventative to avoid my dog...

Crickets all died, worried about tarantulas...

I had about 2 dozen crickets ranging from pinhead to adults from petco =/ They were all fine before I left for work at 11pm, when I got home at 7am they were all dead, that is why I think it was some type of exposure to something. I generally wash my hands before and after interacting with my...

Crickets all died, worried about tarantulas...

After reading all the DKS threads I am now very scared that you are correct. My cats had just been dosed with frontline and one of them likes to sleep up against the cricket cage =/ I didn't even think about how that could affect the inverts.... I feel so stupid... The tarantulas and crickets...

Crickets all died, worried about tarantulas...

So I came home from work a few days ago to find all of my crickets dead at the bottom of their cage. They live in a little critter keeper and eat the flukers food and the water gel stuff, until this happened I had not had a single one die aside from being fed to the T's. I have no reason to...

New T owner ith a few questions

Get more tarantulas and the extra crickets won't be an issue! =P At least that is how I talked my husband into getting our second one, couldn't let all of the crickets that got too big just go to waste and all...

    Rat bedding?

From my understanding it can be anywhere from $60-300 per rat for spays and neuters, if you are in the NE though you can adopt them already spayed and neutered for cheaper than that from mainly rat rescue!
