Suggestions on a new large terrestrial T?

My A geniculata and G pulchra are my favorite Ts. I think either would be a good addition to your collection.

    G. pulchra burrowing

My G. pulchra did the same thing. Rearranges the enclosure all the time. Next time it closes off its burrow, just leave it. Mine has stayed underground for better than a month without food or water. They are slow growers so it will fast from time to time even without molting. It will dig...

Rookie mistake. Now what do I do with this T overnight?

It's not ideal, but I've put my G. pulchra on moist (not wet) sub before. As long as the sub dries out after a few days, I'm sure the spider is fine. The spider was redecorating and eating fine with moist sub as it dried out.

    Help. A. urticans sling "unresponsive"

The 95 deg is cool for us. From the end of April to the end of October it runs 95-110+ deg. The thermostat is set to 78 deg upstairs where the Ts are. Downstairs thermostat is set to 69 deg right now. I'm in the heat all day for work. I want it cold at home. ;) I think the warmer temp (75-78...

    Grammostola pulchripes Reclosure Question

The cup seems like a ok size for now. I think it's fine until after it's next molt. I'd Get a water bottle cap in there for it to drink out of.

    Tarantula Behavior Question

You want to know why a moody T species that is stressed from being improperly kept who is never handled tried to fang you? I'm surprised you're hand wasn't ventilated. If you want somethin small and fuzzy to hold, buy a dwarf bunny. Their fangs are smaller than the Grammostola rosea. lol I've...

    Help. A. urticans sling "unresponsive"

Ah, Modesto. The armpit of Ca... I guess YC isn't a ton better! lol I'm trying to get another A. versi from a local T breeder. I lost the first one I had that was 3/4" last year to a bad molt. I now know that my Sling enclosure needs more ventalation holes (using Jamie's sling enclosure). But...

When is prey too SMALL for a T?

I feed dead and chunks of small crickets until they can take small live crickets. Pinheads should work fine live.

    Buying a Brachypelma smithi

I've bought from Paul's, Jaimies, one local T breeder, and from well reveiwed people out of the For Sale section. All have gone well.

    Is this a good deal?

Oh, I agree with you! But I've seen oceanfront property in Arizona sell for a premium. It's plausible that the OPs seller bought the G. pulchra for that much.

    Is this a good deal?

There is a 6" female G. pulchra in the for sale forum for $500 right now. They go for $45-$60 for 1/2"-3/4" slings. I do think that much money is nuts for a pet spider... But then I stand back and add up my collection costs with enclosures... Then I think I'm nuts.

Nice looking sprider... The price was sure good!

    Stroke of luck I guess!

Sorry you lost it. Very sad. I lost an A. versi as well just after a molt. But I wasn't able to help it at all. I came in one day, and it was already gone. :(

    Dubia roaches

This last feeding I put lemon in with the carrots and other veggies. Let's see if it helps. I'll change the cartens this week as well. Also going to try to scrub the rubber made out better. Maybe use a drop of vinigar to help clean it and kill the smell.
