Ahaha, thanks. I fed most of the other crickets out yesterday and today none of my spiders seem to have keeled over, so it's probably fine, just unusual. Or cherry flavored. ;)
Thanks for the info, Smokehound. That's interesting about them building turrets, because I've never seen them, and these guys are the most common wolfies around here. It could easily escape my sight though. The dirt she's on is sandy river-side soil, so that should make her happy. She has...
I used to keep 'em, along with snails, but then I decided I liked snails better, mainly because I was young and snails can be picked up without getting all slimy. LOL
I just bought some small crickets from my local petstore, and noticed that one of them has a reddish spot below the (thorax?) middle of its body. Is it sick, or did I just get an odd one? I'm just asking because I don't want to feed a diseased cricket to my true spiders and poison them or...
There, Alokin. Happy? :)
Sorry this isn't the greatest of pictures. She started to move right as I took it and then my iPad thought it was an opportune time to tell me my storage was full and that it couldn't take any more photos. By the time I cleared up some space, she wasn't in a very...
Well the weirdest thing happened. Yesterday I felt bad for the spider, having been stuck in that barren deli cup for a few days, so I made a little habitat for it, using dirt I brought in from outside. The dirt was moist because it's been raining here. Anyway, this morning I woke up, and the...
Yeah, and this spider is definitely female, or immature and just not showing the difference yet. Being in the bathroom it sort of makes me wonder if somehow (unlikely I know) this spider was unfortunate enough to get some kind of white powder on it. *shrugs*

Thanks guys. Ha, Snark. I'll have to see if I can get a better picture then. And Biollantefan54, I know what you mean. The "splatter" of white on the abdomen has me confused. It's also quite stocky, if you know what I mean.
Title says it all. LOL Nothin' like waking up and finding a new spider species in your bathroom followed by a vigorous run to the nearest catch-cup. ;) It's a lighter grey than it appears in the picture.
Here's another version of the same story. Not quite as fear-mongering I think. *shrugs*

People have selectively bred P. regius jumping spiders to have orange coloration instead of their natural black and white. The orange form does occur in nature, but people have selectively bred them to just have that. Salticstance, (Phids.net) has done it.
But basically, if the code for...
Haha, it's still a spider. Six legs only means it has lost some, not that it's some type of cross between an insect and an arachnid. :) Looks a bit like a wolf spider of some kind, but without a better picture it's hard to tell what exact species it is.
I had some stick insects, er, about a year ago and they loved blackberries. Some people feed romaine lettuce but blackberries (the leafy part, not the berries LOL) won't wilt if you give them a baby food jar of water as a vase. If left in there long enough uneaten they'll turn brown and dry up...
