I would suggest taking a looking at East African Sand Boas (http://www.kingsnake.com/sandboa/colubrin.html). The snakes stay small, eat great, and are very docile. If you happen to live in the Hampton Roads area, I also have a adult pair for sale (male amelanistic, female anerythristic) for...
Intro,
Pinhead crickets or nymphs roaches are fine for newborn Platymeris biguttatta. I have even had them eat a freshly killed cricket without a problem.
Define small? It's a relative term and what is small to me is no necessary small to someone else.
Will your parent allow you to keep frozen mice in the freezer? If so, your selection of what snake to get just grew exponentially.
You mentioned you kept garter snakes in the past...
During the Spring/Summer, the temps are mid to upper 70s. During the winter, upper 60s, lower 70s. I don't really brumate the house snake, but I do reduce its food intake. Sorry, my only house snake is a lonely, brown male.
Though I am working on a snow kenyan sand boa project this year...
Actually I keep my house snakes exactly like my corn snakes. Room temperature w/ no additional heat. I think most people prefer corn snakes because of the array of colors and morphs you can get with them.
This is my second year breeding these guys.
Males - 10 gallon size tank is all you need. Fuzzy/hoppers/rat pinks for food. Males don't need as much food, so don't be surprised when they off feed for weeks, especially during the breeding season. Substrate: aspen. Sand is rarely recommended...
This is my final email concerning this transaction. Today, MoneyGram has finished their investigation and have issued me a full refund (minus the $15 processing fee).
night... man, that sucks. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. As of Nov. 10 and $15 spent filling out the paperwork tracking/canceling the MO, Money Gram has informed me the MO still hasn't been cashed. Money Gram told me if will be another week before the investigation will be done and I can...
Lucille,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into them.
Kelly,
I will agree with everyone. If your slings arrived alive, I would cut your losses. Fifteen dollars is what I just spent at MoneyGram to have them research this issue.
Hello,
I would like to get into millipede breeding and these two were recommended made by a few hobbyists. Of the two, is there one specie which is easier to breed over the other.
How long does it take, on average, for each (assuming 1" babies) to mature to adulthood.
Like Kelly, Carol promised by MO will be received by today, but nothing.
I have filed a fraud report with the Postal Inspector, IC3 (www.ic3.gov), and Money Gram. Maybe the administrators of this board can do something to help. Anything will be appreciated.
Thanks
Just a status update...
I too have received a similar response. Unlike night4now, I can not wait any longer. I have asked desertdweller (Carol) for the MO to be sent back, since it doesn't appear to have been cashed (from my bank). My gut instincts are kicking in and telling me the...
I hate to sound like a broken record, but much of what I will be stating has been repeated by KJE.
On 10-25-2009, 02:38 AM, desertdweller apologized for the delay shipping. She indicated it was caused by her computer having issues. As a result she has been without a computer for a full...
Hello,
For those following my initial inquiry, I wish I could report something good has happen, but I can't. Tomorrow, I will be talking to a Postal Inspector and my bank to file the necessary mail fraud paperwork and refund request forms.

Discoid use to be the primary feeder before B. dubia and B. laterallis became popular. I prefer to use discoid because they are more skittish and aren't prone to freezing, like dubia do. Not the mention, I get a bad rash with dubia frass, but not discoid frass.
Hello,
Has anyone bought from desertdweller before? I placed an order, sent out an MO, and haven't heard anything since. I have sent out multiple emails, but all have been ignored/not responded too. I hope everything is ok, but still, an email would be nice.
