I wouldn't call it anal. I do the almost the same thing. On my labels i write the scientific name, pet name and a number that corresponds with a notebook with purchse date, common and scientific name, molt date etc... are written in. I write everything except feedings. It helps my bad...

i don't know about actinic lighting very much. But i like using the LED lights. When i want to look to my content at night. I use a LED flashlight that has blue, orange and red adaptors. I am looking into doing my cabnet with that.

I guess you just know when you know. My first OW was a E.Pachyous sling. Great spider and like everyone said you grow with them. By the time he gets big i won't be so new anymore.
