Congrats on your purchases ! and Welcome to the hobby. I am sure that you have heard this many times already, this hobby is an addictive one.
Always about the encloser size that you mentioned. Make sure that it is not too big. IMO too big is just as bad as too small.
Do a search.
Good luck...
I actually agree with Grammostola aeriostriata (Chaco Goldenknee), I beleive that is a great starter specie.
My first spider was a Paraphysa Scrofa (i cant remeber the common name), and i think i made a great choice and wouldn't change it. She is a medium size T, only about 3 quarters of your...
Martin, Amanda and Eric, Those pics were beyond amazing. I stared at them all in total awe. Glad to see you made it home safe, minus a couple of painful stings and probably a few close calls.

i don't know about actinic lighting very much. But i like using the LED lights. When i want to look to my content at night. I use a LED flashlight that has blue, orange and red adaptors. I am looking into doing my cabnet with that.
I have a Paraphysa Scrofa too. I just love her to death.
And she can be a healthy eater if i let her. But what i normally do is if i see that my Ts don't eat the crickewt right away, i usually take it out after a couple of minutes. I try again in another occasion.

He was great though...
