Just thought I'd see if anyone knows where this orange jumper might naturally be from? We get a lot of freight from all over the USA here and I've never seen one this color in Utah before.
I think if memory serves there are two species of Ts you can find in utah one being A. idious I had one that was a female for a bit but they don't tend to fair as well captive there have been issues getting viable captive bred slings in the past.and more info search for the above species in the...
I don't think it is but my wife thinks it is. I think it's a yellow sax spider[ATTACH=CONFIG]135957[/ATTACH. We live in provo utah and found it inside the house. It could be but I don't think so.
I always felt getting new ts into an enclosure was easier then rehousing because getting the ts out of the old enclosure is always the stressful part for me. Also the new ts will move a little slower depending on how cold they get. Good luck and enjoy
There are always several things to take into consideration when picking an adult cage.
1 how much room do you have?
2 how much have you noticed this T roaming?
3 how much money do you have to spend?
I never used anything larger then a 10 gal for any of my adult Ts. I've down sized my...
I think there are a few things we should remember:
1 many of us who collect mass quantities of Ts don't remember that we are the exception to the rule. Some of us may have 100 some may have 5 and most have like 1 T and then loose interest.
2 if you were limited to just 1 tarantula would you...
Also don't let people get you down I handled my tarantulas with snowboarding gloves for the first year some people forget what it was like when they were learning
I don't think an obt is a bad old world T to start with. I think mine was a cobalt blue but my 2nd was an obt. This reminds me of my first P. striata I went to rehouse him at 3" and he ran up my shorts. The best way I found to rehouse was the 2 liter bottle method. I normally use a 1 liter...
when I had my regulars I notice it grew much faster then my other poeci. I also felt like it was more docile then my other Ts accept for my P. metallica.
Im a little old school but I see cross breeding as an abomination in the tarantula world. I feel it is not only stupid because it is messing with mother nature but that it makes little to no business sense. Here are the reasons cross breeding is dumb:
1. You sacrifice far to many Ts trying to...
Could just be poo on your T. I've had it happen a few times that my T. Has rubbed up against an area with poo and then ran around for a few days with frosted tips. It will eventually cone off or you can use a q tip
I think this is happening because the government is loosing control of everything else they were trying to ban so they are looking for small victories any place they think they can get them. If we put up any kind of struggle they will give up in my opinion.
http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/news-10-most-poisonous-spiders?image=12 saw this and thought I'd post it because they listes two tarantulas in most posion. Also I've never seen anyone post about a pokie putting people in a coma has anyone else seen this?
