Hello, I've been out of the Tarantula loop for a very long time, and since I'm finally settled, I'm ready to jump back in. One problem though. I live in Alaska now. I had gotten several T's from Botar back in the day, and other various exotic shops around. I just have no idea where to start up...
Is anybody else experiencing difficulty trying to get on his web site? it's been a while since i've been on and i'm hoping the site is still up and running.
aureostriata
Here's my .75'' Grammostola aureostriata sling. Photo taken with the awesome SuperMacro setting on a s2 1s digital cannon power shot camera.
i know they can be quite fast at times. i've handled mine severel times with no problem. for the most part, mine is chilled out. now my C.crawshayi is another story{D
here's my situation, I've got a 1.75'' C. fasciatum and by my records, the last time it ate was 15MAR06. Since then, it has covered the opening of its burrow. I can see him in there, and he doesnt seem to have molted. should i try to remove the obstruction, and drop a cricket down?
Thats a given. I dont think anybody in the hobby doesnt like a metallica. pet shops mess up so many species, why cant they just label a p. metallica as a h. lividum?
possibly premolt. My G. aureostriata did the same thing. I had tried all the different actions you listed. (A,B,C & D) and after all failed... the booger molted.
I've been collecting for 5 years now, and I've never had the chance to go to Lee Watson's. I'm going to try to go on the 1st of April. I was just wondering who's been there, who's going, and what its like.
i've had the same problem with my male WC H. lividum. it was very active at one point in time. i'd given him enough substrate, and started a burrow, all that fun stuff... and when he comes out of his burrow, he seems lethargic. out of it. i could mist him, even poke him, and he wont do anything...
i've had a mature male g. rosea that hasnt eaten in a year coming up in april. we'll see if he's still kicking long enough for a new record. i wouldnt be too concerned.
