    Moving with Ts

Sorry, I know this has been posted before, but I simply can't figure out the search function. At all. I know this thread has popped up a lot, but I am going to ask one more time. When moving with your Ts, do you pack them into vials, or do you move them inside their enclosure? I want to...

Can a T molt too often?

I'm withholding food to attempt and slow my guys down a bit, as I'm moving in 15 days. I plan on not feeding them again until probably Feb 1st (to give them time to settle back down after the stress of moving). All my guys seem happy without food right now, so I'm not worried. I was just trying...

Can a T molt too often?

I'm withholding food from all my Ts until after I move Jan 25. I hope it's not too cold ... definitely don't want another polar vortex like we had at the beginning of this week!! I'm pretty sure my Ts are going to be very upset with this move ....

Can a T molt too often?

As am I. I can never tell when he is in pre-molt because he just MOLTS with no warning. He ate very well after this last molt (3 small crix and a mealworm spread out over 2 days) because he looked pretty dang skinny. The most recent pic is after he put some fat back on after all that molting.

Can a T molt too often?

I'm adding some pics so you guys can see just how drastic this growth over the past month has been. Dec 2 -- no signs of premolt, but molted 3 days later: Caught during mid-molt Dec 18: After he hardened up: SURPRISE!! Jan 5 molt: After he hardened up and let me...

Can a T molt too often?

I haven't seen any of my other 7 molt this often - not even my LP! He is quite grumpy after this last molt. The G pulchra kept on the other side of the enclosure isn't molting that frequently. There is no visible mold, and I definitely haven't seen any mites. Hmm.

Can a T molt too often?

Here's the thing: I TRIED to powerfeed this T as a sling. It simply showed no interest in food. It has eaten a bit better over the past couple of months (appetite really increased once I started providing a heat source), but not enough to really qualify as powerfeeding. I offer 2-3 crickets a...

Can a T molt too often?

I am asking, simply because I have had a Grammostola pulchripes molt 3 times in the past month. The first molt was Dec 5th, then again on Dec 18th, and again on Jan 5th. I was so surprised at this molt cycle that I am concerned he is growing too quickly? This last molt has left me with a...

Feels like a dumb question but I'm a T noob.

^ This happened to me about 7 years ago. That dang spider TELEPORTED out of its enclosure and up the ceiling! Some of it was my own fault as a n00b (was keeping it in a more terrestrial enclosure), but ... I gave that spider away as soon as I caught it. So ... I now have a bunch of NW...

    G. pulchripes has been sealed in her burrow for two months

I get to use my favorite saying. :) Your spider knows what its doing!!! :D Like everyone said, keep the water bowl full, and drop a couple prekilled crickets in there every week or so. :) She'll come out when she's ready, and right as rain.

I hope they will be ok

Yes. It would be something you have to do through the shipping company (USPS or whatever), but that is ONLY if the package contents were insured. It can be a lengthy process, and if you've already tossed the DOA's, then ... I don't think you can prove (pics MAY work) your loss. It's still worth...
