I'm no expert, i can only tell you what i've seen with my two emps which have molted several times in my care now. They will get extremely fat, they look like little sausages. They'll stop eating. If you try to tong feed them they might kill the prey but won't eat it. And a few days before they...
Thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. I think I got everything set up correctly for her. And as for the hooks I really don't think she has any, so its provably a lady. I'll try to handle her so I can look closely and be sure though
And if it helps this T was found on the outskirts of San Diego, CA. It measurs around 2 inches. And it's mostly gray in color with only half of the belly being black
I've been getting ready to get a h. Troglodytes (flat rock) so i have everything for it and i was about to get one from ken the bug guy. If you can't take care of yours i'd be more than happy to
Hey so i've meaning to introduce an isopod cleaning crew to my emp's enclosure, but my emps are not adults yet. They are probably 3i/4i so molting will still occur. Is it safe to itrduce isopods at this stage or should i wait untill my scorps reach afulthood and won't molt anymore
I'm not sure if it depends on species but I've seen some videos were scorpions and millipedes are put together and it aint pretty. Worst part is, the millipede wins. So unless you want them to fight I wouldn't reccommend it
Those babies are pretty fat! They should be molting soon. I remember when mine where pretty little babies. They've molted twice since and shouldn't be long before they molt again.
Congrats on your scorps, it is quite something to see them grow.
Great video, the idea of the beetles is just incredible. Would these beetles work with emperor scorpions too? Or is there something similar that could live along the emps, clean up, and survive in the emps habitat?
Thank you but i wasn't asking for a lecture on feeding things i found on the yard.
What i need to know is if it is safe to feed figeater beetles (as in cotinis mutabilis) to emperor scorpions. Is it a healthy meal? Are the beetles dangerous to the scorpions? Can the beetles actually attack and...
So today I enter my room at 10pm and che my scorpion, and to my surprise he is at the entrance of his burrow right in the middle of molting! It is an incredible feeling to get to see this little things happen.
Man! I never thought about it being gravid! how should I take care of a gravid Mantis!? Should I provide anything different than a not gravid one? Wht do I do with the oothe?
Thanks, I'll get some screen for her so she can climb, she seems to be wanting to but she can't climb on the plastic walls :s
On the ID subject, I did some research and it looks to me that she is a Stagmomantis Carolina, can anybody confirm?
Anyways here another foto of her, feeding
Hey guys I caught this baby today on my backyard and since I got into the hobby of inverts a few weeks ago i plan on keeping her. I just got two emperor emperor scorpions two weeks ago. Plus I'm starting a dubia colony once my roaches arrive on saturday, so I need mouths to feed ^_^
Anyway so...
So I've see a few spiders in my house lately and I've been wondering if it's safe to feed them to my infant emperor scorpions? I don't know what kind of spiders they are, they look like black widows but are brown and don't have the red mark on their bellies.
Also, I've been feeding my...
I got two baby emps and I'm still not sure wether they're male or female so they haven't been oficially named yet. Although I think they are both male, if this turns out to be correct I'll name them Martius and Affidius after the generals of the roman legend of Coriolanus.
