    Chaco Tips?

Very good choice with the G. Aureostriata, very low maintenance in my experience even as slings, and as was already pointed out, they have quite an appetite. I got mine as a 3/4" in sling and she's almost 3" now. only about 1 year 6 mos later.

    Spider kills massive prey!

Last I heard they were very difficult to get a hold of, New Zealand born sp. of this kind are considered rare and very little, if any, importing is done (to the U.S.). But I have heard that they are a very docile bunch, and good keepers.:)

Help!! King baboon sling acting strange!!

When I first moved my T's to a new area of the house, I moved them to an area with much greater exposure to the heat vents and found that my Crawshayi sling reacted much more quiclky to the lack of humidity than any of the others (for obviouos reason, she's only .5"), and I saw quite the same...

However, Brian S. has a very valid point. Especially with very humidity sensitive species, it depends on what you are keeping.

. I have some success with maintaining relatively steady humidity in the same fashion, but its largely dependant on your ambient humidity, in consideration of application of water (misting substrate, etc).

    Did she eat it?

Agreed, it probably made short work of the cricket, but if I may ask, what type of substrate are you using for the Smithi?

    Cedrik's photo album

I agree with you 100% Baboon, handling, in my opinion should not be practiced, it stresses the T very, very much as you well know. I just had this little lady decide that she wasn't going to be cooperative during her housing transport, and wanted to venture out in the great unknown. I am with...

Fearsome Baboon, below I will share with you the most frightening, near apocolyptic Crawshayi that has ever walked on this planet. It has driven several visitors to my house completely mad, running in all directions, she is simply put...insane... I apologize for the horrible photography...
