    Longevity of Chilean Rose

I am so sad to say that my beautiful girl (my Chilean Rose) passed away today. She had been with me since 2002. She was an adult when I got her. So, I'm not sure how old she was--somewhere between 25 and 27, maybe. I think that she molted 4 or 5 times since I had her. My heart is so broken.

    Longevity of Chilean Rose

Mine does not pounce on her crickets, anymore. She just wait for them to get by her, and bam, she grabs them. She still reacts pretty quickly when she is startled, though. But she is never in a hurry for nothing. I never pick her up because I'm afraid that she will fall and injure herself. I'm...

    Longevity of Chilean Rose

Thanks for all the input, here. Well, this how I calculate it. Everything I read, they say that it takes about 5 years for a C. Rose to fully mature. I got her at a Petco. They usually get their animals from breeders—that’s what I was told. Breeders usually sell their animals as soon as they...

    Longevity of Chilean Rose

Better put her in your will, then. I totally see that: “I bequeath to my Chilean Rose tarantula, my house, my car, and my collection of coins.” I have read of a few things, but there is nothing that confirms that age of over 30 years. Usually, it says they can live about 20 years. My girl could...

    Longevity of Chilean Rose

Hello there, I have been here before, many years ago. I just wanted to introduce my old girl, Rosy. Is it possible that this Chilean Rose is well into her mid 20s’. I’ve had her since 2001, and she was already an adult then. I calculated that she may already have been between 4 or 5 when I got...

Right! It's a boy! It did morph into a gorgeous male. So sad he will not live very much longer!

Thanks Telepatella. She is still so small, but I think that it's a female because when I look at it with a LED light, I can see a slit shine. But I'll try to post a better picture later.

Brown spot on my P. Irmina

Wow! So interesting! I also thought that it may be possible for a tarantula to get some kind of a slight injury that could look like a bruise but I'm no specialist, so what I think is irrelevant. This T is not a wild caught so we can disregard the possibility of parasites and I did meet the...

Brown spot on my P. Irmina

Happy New Year everybody and thanks for the help. I have quite an update. I pretty well followed all your advices: didn't overfeed the T (it would not eat anyway), checked on it regularly and I also met with the breeder himself who assured me that if any problems I could count on him to help...
