C.cyaneopubescens- Recently molted, just found in death curl

Hey Coldblood, its been a while- I wish it was under better circumstances. I guess a novice is a novice- I always spray about 1/4 of the enclosure of all my T's before I go an never had a problem until now. Although it does't make a huge difference that wasn't dried condensation in the photo, it...

C.cyaneopubescens- Recently molted, just found in death curl

Hey guys I know I vanished from these forums but I never stopped keeping T's- I don't really have any good excuses for my absence and I also can't guarantee I'm going to be back on here with any regularity but I will try! Last week my C.cyaneopubescens molted and she came out great! Also I...

Please help! G.rosea ruptured abdomen during a molt

Thanks for the fast replies guys No smell or anything yet, I think she tried to molt yesterday and has been stuck like that since. I'll put her in the freezer just to make sure. I know they can't feel pain or emotions but I feel like it would make them uncomfortable at the very least.

Please help! G.rosea ruptured abdomen during a molt

Hi everyone I just came home to check on my T's and found one of my G.roseain a very typical dead T pose, It grew back a leg it lost a while back and upon closer inspection the abdomen appeared damp so I lifted it up slightly and there seems to be a hole near the vent area (not even going to...

    Opinion

Maybe I have a dumb one then.... Mine just happily sits there for the most part, sometimes bolts but never out of the bin... Just makes a mad dash for his Hidey-Hole. He runs out of his burrow faster then any other T i keep only at feeding time though, and then its right back down the burrow.

When do you draw the line?

I know this is a controversial topic and the T knows better than I do but how long do you wait before you go digging? I mean at some point you have to make sure that they are even still in there and I was just wondering how long you give them (I'm expecting different amounts of time for species...

Comment by 'scorpionchaos' in media 'Tarantula ID and sex anyone ?'

It's a rose hair (G.porteri) and they usually fast for weeks or months. Nobody can sex that spider with this picture, you will need to take a clear picture of the opening where the abdomen meets the carapace or you can wait for a molt and take a picture of the area between the first set of book...

    Summer Growth Boom

When tarantulas are kept warmer there metabolism increase as well as there growth rates (kinda go hand in hand). Its understandable that when things cool down animals tend to slow down. As for it being detrimental i have no clue. I know its not for north american species as they are subjected to...

"Africa isn't letting out any more Rosehairs"

I think you have made a classic mistake, based by the off gold medal color of the carapace this is clearly referring to Grammastola porteriphelps. roseaspitz might make it half way across the atlantic but porteriphelps made it to Africa by crossing the pacific and indian oceans. Hope that...

    My husbandry? Help please.

I have had no problems with vials, I just make up the eco earth and squeeze it as hard as I can and fill the vial about half way. Only ventilation is a small hole in the center of the lid, However I do open the vial every 2 days to check in and recirculate. As soon as they are big enough they go...
