t.strimi was my first T. I jumped in guns blazing. It was about 3" when i got it. I think it was wc.
Of all my T's he wasnt even the one i feared the most. Sure it is defensive and big. But my OBT is what scared the jesus out of me.
That said my strimi is healthy and over 8" now.
I am not speaking from any experience but i would bet the LP is near the top, not only because of breeding but because of how cheap they are and how easy it can be to get several females if you buy a bunch.
I prekill all my dubias. Just squish the head and lay it on its back. It will keep kicking its feet but wont be able to run around. Sometimes they will flip back over but usually they are food before that.
The reason I brought up the lid is a mesh top can cause the spiders legs to get stuck when ti climbs ont he top and sets it up to fall right on its back. I didnt think it wa sbad for the rwasons he mentioned, only the ones I just mentioned.
You need to lure him out Jurassic park style. Here is what you do. Take a roach. Tie some string around his neck. Tie that string to half a chop stick or a pop-sickle stick. Place the stick in the ground in-front of his hide. Set up a camera or sit and wait.
