Thank you for your comment, after doing a little more searching it looks like it may be a either an Avicularia or a Juruensis the stripes on its abdomen is what is throwing me off. It also has a dark green color on its head.

Need help identifying this guy. They had it as a pinktoe, but not sure which one. At first I thought it might be a metallica, but I am now thinking it is a Versicolor.

    Update!!!!

So I have had a rough year and lost a few slings but many others are thriving. Both of my P. pulchers have moulted multiple times and are now about the size of a quarter. They are fast and doing well. My two GBB slings are now the size of 50 cent pieces. They are showing their adult colors...

    2 Slings Dead

Fed once a week two leg pieces each. The A. azuraklaasi sibling is in pre-molt and expected to molt any day now. I had them in small acrylic containers a lot like jamies taratulas sling enclosures with plenty of ventilation. I misted them twice a week.

    2 Slings Dead

Well today I was checking in on my T's when I noticed two of my slings had died. 1 A. azuraklaasi and my LP. The LP was very small and had access to water, the A. azuraklaasi I have had a few months also and it just died. It sibling is still alive and in pre-molt right now. I don't know why...

    This Makes Me SICK!!!

I agree with you. I didn't say it was equivalent to a UFC fight. I was more talking about a schoolyard fight where two people are out to injure each other. I should have been a bit more clear. And as far as we know Tarantulas don't feel pain like we do. But they do feel pain, and as a T...

    This Makes Me SICK!!!

Yes stating it the way you did I understand what you are trying to say. And there really is no difference in filming a feeding and filming a fight between two creatures in captivity other than one is to provide sustanance to another creature while the other is to sensationalize violence between...

    This Makes Me SICK!!!

I think what the biggest problem here is that they purposely put them in to fight, then at the end of the video said to take them out because they were injured. Yeah they put them to fight out of curiosity/<insert reason here> but in the end it was to see to separate species that would not meet...

Love your tarantulas, but creeped out by wild spiders in your house?

I love all spiders, and tend to just take them outside, even black widows. My son recently has gotten over his fear and a few months ago as he was getting ready for school did not freak out when he saw a 3" DLS Wolf Spider on his wall. He just told me there was one so I could catch it and...

    Who molted today?

I will post pics soon but I have had a weekend full of molts. I have had one P. pulcher molt and one is in severe pre-molt. I also have had both my GBB's molt one as early as last night. They are all practicing their yoga and are looking healthy and fine. The P. pulcher didn't seem to gain...

    Hobby Vs. Hoarding

I have 10 at the moment, 9 are mine and 1 is my sons. It takes me 10 to 15 minutes two nights a week for basic upkeep. Feeding, cleaning, watering, etc.... And maybe checking on there water two other days a week. That is no time at all for the amount of T's I have. The rest of the time I...

I think I am done with Avics for awhile.

My P. pulcher are really awesome, good eaters and prefer to be arboreal.

Actually its tank was very well ventilated. I use this http://tarantulahomes.com/ver_medium.php terrarium for it and it had a nice setup. This was its second moult since I had her and it just sucks that she died. This is the third Avic I lost in less than a year, and I have two slings which...

I think I am done with Avics for awhile.

Well I had posted last week that I thought something was off with my A. urticans well I fed it on Friday night like I do all my T's and when I went to check on it Sunday morning it was dead. The cricket had been eaten but my little guy was in a death curl. Now all my other T's are fine it is...
