    Anything strange about this regalis?

This thread is so interesting! Thank you for updating, and I am glad the regalis turned out to be female.

    Who molted today?

B.vagans molted early this morning. Maybe 2.5-3 in now.

    Who molted today?

    B. albopilosum, 2nd OBT, and L. violaceopes all molted. I can finally see some purple on my L. viola, but I'm pretty sure it's a male. :/

    Who molted today?

    C. fimbriatus molted, and I think one of my OBTs molted as well. Hasn't come out of its burrow all the way yet.

    Genus Lampropelma

Alright, that would be great. I'll do the same with mine, it should be due to molt relatively soon.

    Genus Lampropelma

Ahh, I was finally able to get a look at mine ventrally last night and it also looks male. I've never heard that male to female ratio thing. It will be interesting to see if yours turn out male.

    Spermathecae Sexing

Walmart does have a couple hand held mini microscopes for about $10, it would be something while you save up for a USB microscope. I've heard the little hand held ones work just fine.

    Genus Lampropelma

Hmm. I mean mine isn't really all that purple at all, even under light. And it is about 3 inches. Why do you think those 2 are males?
  10. FoxtheLviola

    Genus Lampropelma

That is what I thought too, but I've also heard they are sexually diamorphic, so I'm just not sure. Mine is not even close to being that purple, so I'm thinking it is probably male. Thank you for sharing your pictures!

    Spermathecae Sexing

I'd say probably at 2.5 inches you should easily be able to see spermatheca. I can just make out the spermathecae on my N. chromatus 2 in molt, and that's really only cause I know exactly what I'm looking for. You don't need an expensive microscope. I just use a child's microscope kit and it...

    Genus Lampropelma

I have a question for y'all that are more experienced about sexual diamorphism in L. violaceopes. Do they show as much as nigerrimum? I have a 3 in viola and in certain light it looks darker and then in other light it looks more brown. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of it, but I really...

    Euthalus Truculentus?

She's super cute! I wish I could get my E sp. red to eat. I think she's eaten maybe 6 times since I got her last October. She's so picky, only eats pre-killed food and even that she usually just ignores.

    Who molted today?

My N. chromatus molted this morning. She's over 2 inches now. Crazy to think just a year ago she was a tiny 2nd instar sling less than .25 in!

    Who molted today?

    P. ornata molted a couple days ago. Didn't even know! At least 5" now and gorgeous.

    Unpacking the new gravid P.muticus!

She's gorgeous! I hope she drops a sac for you!

Im going to put a note on this...

Haha. I was worried about this when I was getting my cable installed this year. All my Ts are in my room, and I was getting g a cable box put in there. I warned the cable installer about my Ts once he got there, but he was fine with them. And even thought they were kind of neat.

    That moment when you knew...

I think my addiction started before I even got my first T with all the research I did. I was reading books and articles and papers every day. I couldn't get enough. Then I went to my LPS, saw they had an L. violaceopes sling(my dream T), and was like Damnit! I knew I wouldn't stop with her, and...

    Signs of a stressed tarantula?

My female H. lividum took about 2 days to dig her burrow that I started for her, and then added touch ups over a couple weeks. But all tarantulas are different in their settling in period. I was wondering if you still had it in the 10 gal? I had mine in a KK and she never burrowed, so I stole...

What species of Avicularia is this?

It is definitely an A. versicolor that is just starting to get its adult colors. A. versis start out with a striped opisthosoma. Well, I payed $15 for mine when is was a 2nd instar, but I have seen some at 2nd instar for $25-30, so I would say its not too bad of a deal. If you can, you can...
