Yep
Yes, I hope so. I get overly worked up whenever somebody else thinks that he or she knows what is best for me or my animals.
Even though I am so far to the left and truly believe in what the enviromental people are trying to do with the wildlife, I dought that they will make much of...
Irony
Don't you think that it is extremely ironic that the USDA honestly believes that it can truly control the importation of insect species. I believe that they continue to have an inner built in arrogant belief about their own abilities. But then again this is a continued typical item within...
Invasive Links
Here are a couple of links. There are many out there to look at.

What next, hardwire and network our brains to see if we are thinking about insects as pets which makes us...
Exterminate
The exterminators in the U.S.A. are usually out to kill the pest roach species.
Other than that I do not know of anybody who would purchase the pest species other than possibly a college student who may be using them in research to develop new pesticides.
There may be someone...
Four
It very well could be a species specific thing. I only have these four Blaberus species...
parabolicus
discoidalis
craniifer
fusca
...so I could in no way comment on the giganteus. There are several roach breeders/suppliers who frequently post in this forum that have the...
Interesting
Interesting, I have never seen any of my females in this type of activity. I leave mine 100% alone except for every 3rd day to feed and water. I will watch next time I feed and water to see if my females do that with their wings. :)

Blaberus Parabolicus FYI
Well, I was incorrest on my 300 to 400 estimation of new Blaberus parabolicus nymphs that were born here. I have well over 500 small parabolicus nymphs and 54 very gravid females. Anyway I think that they are gravid since they are females and all of their abdomens have...
Blaberus update, FYI
Here is a current update on my Blaberus species to date, FYI if you are considering one of these species maybe this will aid in your choice.
Blaberus discoidalis, 150 nymphs aquired in August 2005.
100 origionals left alive which are all adults. The reason in which some...
Those are nymphs of what looks like a Blaberus species. It is difficult to determine which species you have without adult pictures but if the supply you aquired them from is honest then they could be Blaberus giganteus. Those nymphs in your picture are very simular to my Blaberus fusca nymphs...
Hybrid Roaches
Hybridizing roach species sure sounds pretty cool and an advantage with a new genetic hybid could arise. I was planning on trying to produce a couple of Blaberus hybrids. That is assuming that the two species reproduction parts will hook up and they are close enough genetically...
Isopods
Here is a link to some pictures of this very common species...

Isopods
So,
I have seen many pictures of several different species of these animals.
I can easily find Armadillidium vulgare (Pill bug) in my area. Yes, it looks a bit like like an armadillo with a rounded shell like armor. In fact if I spend the time I could find several hundred of them...
Aphis
Yea, I had seen a special on animal planet about Florida and how they deal with the importation of animals. They claimed that one out of every two animals brought into the U.S.A. is illegal such that it is an endagered or protected species. They were not very clear about which exact...
Handling
I think that one issue just might be the size since most of us are used to the smaller sized northern U.S.A roaches in general.
Maybe the best way to get over it would be to just put your hand into a giant roach colony's cage and let 25 or so adults and nymphs crawl on...
Thanks
Thanks Nomad. Yea, I know. Right now she/Cricket is over a year old but when she was about seven months old and 17 inches long, which is large for her age at that time, she went into a very long brumation. I fully expect her to easily exceed 20 inches and maybe hit 24 inches this...
Glass climbers
Hey James,
So which ones climb glass or do not climb glass?
The smaller second ones next to the U.S. quarters look pretty darn cool, what genus and species are they?
Do they climb glass?
So far the origional 150 dubia that I got from you in July of 2005 are doing OK...
