    ICU fluids

I posted this a short while ago - http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?237099-Sucrose-Manna-for-Spiders However, application for a sick tarantula is completely different. It is worth experimenting though imo.

Anyone planning on seeing "Spiders Alive"

Bleh, $19 to see tarantulas I already own and a 10 minute "presentation" consisting of a guy pokin' a rose hair and emperor scorpion. The exhibit was interesting albeit small and best suited for kids, not adults. I visited yesterday (9/10) on a whim after boarding the train not realizing I...

Hah, probably are siblings. Mine molted on the first (9/1). Even as slings they are pretty albeit easily startled. Good luck with yours.

    Sucrose = Manna for Spiders?

Hello everyone, I hope this content was not already briefed (I searched for it) due to the age of this article(2009). I was browsing JSTOR when I found this; Plant Nectar Increases Survival, Molting, and Foraging in Two Foliage Wandering Spiders by Robin M. Taylor and Richard A. Bradley...

Why are superworms called "unhealthy" for tarantulas/inverts?

I've had a very difficult time trying to find scholarly research articles on the tarantula's digestive system and biological needs. The biggest problem being that there are none out there! Tarantulas are incredibly adaptable and that's the biggest problem with learning about them and...

    Challenge feeding Lampropelma violaceopes sling

Hey, I have a l. violaceopes of the same size (is yours also from petcenter?) and with the same behavior. If I place a cricket at the entrance I get nothin'. It's kind of odd considering the T sits at the entrance but won't pull anything in. Needless to say, the cricket isn't there the next day.

CB Tarantulas - Used to being tweezer fed?

How often do you feed? Maybe if they're fat and lazy, it's not worth the struggle :P

    Nystatin in T kit

Lol. It's always good to be prepared I guess :)

    Nystatin in T kit

Nystatin is script only and largely unnecessary but if you insist there are alternatives like athletes foot medication or gentian violet that are readily available (listed in the book). Keep the T in good conditions and it shouldn't happen.

    "Tarantulas eject silk from feet"

Quick question, I read the part the says tarantulas only have two types of silk, so what are the silk glands called? And what type of silk does each produce? strong and elastic or less strong and more elastic?

How do you know when your ready for your first OW

My first T's were OW and I think their notorious image is exaggerated to say the least. If you want an OBT, go get 'em! You already know they're behavior so that's as prepared as you can be!
