    Your coolest T ever!

For movement style, a graceful walk that I can't describe, it would be Stromatopelma c. ~2.25". For color and size, it's my P. regalis female ~6.25". Like them both and they are all that I have. :)

    Do tarantulas startle you?

The speed causes me to be cautious, because both species are really quick. I used to be an arachnophobe, but I don't startle when they move fast now because I expect that they might. I use clear plastic bags and tape to cover the enclosures when doing maintenance, because I might not see them...

    R. I. P. S. calceatum

Just confirming what Hobo said, that after a T molts it may not move for awhile. However this one died post molt. I had 2, so now I just have one and it is a robust specimen that eats like crazy. So I don't want its abdomen to be over-sized, which it would do if I fed it as much as it could...

    R. I. P. S. calceatum

I know, that is normal. But it didn't make it past molt #6 and was not eating for whatever reason, when it's sibling gobbled up dinner. I'm being careful not to feed too much for the surviving sibling which is growing fast. Male?

    R. I. P. S. calceatum

Well, I have to assume that this baby ~1" S. cal didn't survive the molt. After just barely freeing it's abdomen, it lays upright in the same position limply. I look about an hour later and it has walked about 5 inches. No real sign of life. I gave it water and so if it's no longer moving...

    Some Aussie bull ants.

Are you keeping Myrmecia pilosula? Jack jumpers are pretty cool. Wouldn't want to get bit though. :)

    Top Ten Most Aggressive Tarantulas

I have a 6.25" female P. regalis. She is on the shy side of the spectrum. P. fasciata, P. ornata will have more attitude in general. But my girl is fine while in her cork log hide. Just acquired two 1" Stromatopelma c. and the smaller one is skittish, while the larger one which may be a male is...

What T's have you acquired recently?

Picked up 2 1" slings. Stromatopelma Calceatum. Good feeders. The larger has more "feather" on the legs and I'm guessing it will end up being a male. It's a "really" good feeder. The slightly smaller has less feather on the legs and I'm guessing will be a female. Just a hunch. The larger put...

Is a pokie a good starter arboreal?

My P. regalis female loves her hollow cork log so much that she only comes out for necessities, such as dumping her last meal fragments or doing some business. She will rarely explore her enclosure, but has occasionally. This was my first arboreal and 2nd T. Show respect and realize that they...
