How long has your oldest MM lived?

I find it fascinating that a MM Avic avic I purchased back in June is STILL holding on strong. He was definitely matured when I acquired him, and there is no saying for how long. I thought the life span was roughly 4-6 months? Curious to hear your stories!

thank you! after a bit more research, i'd be hard pressed to say this was a young Philodromus dispar? edit: or never mind. that seems to be a varied amount of crab spiders.

OBT or not to OBT, that is the question.

i have a sling, and so far it's less terrifying than my Haplopelma. really just stays in its burrow, until i drop a roach in...then it just comes out of no where. really attractive and interesting tarantula. i'll admit to probably not being ready for it, but i'm sort of the type of individual...

    Please ID this spider!

im sorry, i know im breaking the rules by not just using the ID gallery, but i'd like to get an answer sometime in the next day/days rather than wait for months before someone can tell me wth this is. Tiiiiny little guy, smaller than a dime, ran fast as hell, flat. crab like. moved sideways...

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

Just thought I would throw in an update: Everything is going great! She loves her new set up, has been rearranging everything, and finally ate a roach. Every night I see her perched at her burrow opening, and she looks much healthier. Thanks again for all of the help!

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

the premade burrow is about 6 or 7 inches deep. i put her in, she went right there, gave me a look, and proceeded to go down. she is now on the same shelf as my slings, which is a little quieter and warmer. i wont bother her for several days :) thanks for all the help guys!

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

i spent a good deal mixing and spraying until it could pack, but isnt soggy at all. pushed in a starter burrow with a little piece of cork bark, covered some of the vents (not seen is a top vent, covered), and removed roach hiding places. because i found a couple. hiding away like terrible...

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

i am going to do ALL of that right now. do you not suggest an ICU right now then? i have her in a small container ready to be moved. im glad i have a stock pile of substrate haha. all of my tarantulas are kept in my bedroom, which is the quietest room in the house. im only up there to change...

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

alright, so....this is where i come out as the worst possible owner on this board. i looked at her again, in natural light, and was overwhelmed by relief to see her abdomen actually as normal. nothing wrong at all. and she was moving around fine, etc, everything seemed pretty fine and dandy. so...

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

sorry for not having updated! a picture seemed unnecessary after I gave her a better look. Stupidly I had forgotten her subtle tiger striping, and mistook that (in the heaaaat of the momennnnnt) as being patchy. She is absolutely 100%, aside from the missing leg, and even raised into a threat...

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

thank you everyone! Will move her into ICU today. Have to run to the pet store asap, both of my iguana bulbs blew randomly (UGGGHHHHH) and I have no more backups. So I'll take care of the T right as I get home. Half her tank is filled with substrate. She has never seemed interested in...

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

the enclosure in the center is the one she has (only with two vents on top, not three): http://tarantulacages.com/images/group_large5.jpg So as for her getting caught, the plant life that her leg was found under is very pliable, etc...so I have some doubts that she got caught there to the...

Please help! PetHole lost a leg, and etc!?

thank you for your speedy response! i wasnt so much worried about her losing a leg, as just how surprising it was to have lost it so randomly. she molted several months ago, and has been healthy since. thats why i wondered if it was a roach. either way, you seem to be suggesting maybe a high...
