    Ghost Honduran Milksnake?

I keep y milk snakes the same way as my gopher and my king. One thing I have noticed though is that my honduran can handle noticeably larger meals than my king. Be warned though that milks can have very musky, tail whippy, flighty attitudes.

I've been surprised by quite a few T's. My OBT is kind of like yours, rather mellow, slow almost, and not too much of a webber. It forms it's one tunnel and that's it lol. It's 2 yrs and 3''. My friends 1.25'' OBT on the other hand is the classic "I'll rip your face off if you look at me and...

    Suprise V. spinigerus babies

Well they started molting today (6/26/2013), and it looks like there are anywhere from 15-20 or so. Seems like a small brood but I'll take it :-). Now I'm just hoping they all make it.

I.D. confirmation (cant upload to gallery)

Nevermind, I did a search for "porteri" like I should have in the first place, and realized that this whole genus is a taxonomical mess like Avicularia. I decided I will keep her labeled as rosea, and if I ever breed her I will use a male with the same colors in hopes that I don't accidentaly...

I.D. confirmation (cant upload to gallery)

Hi everyone, I bought this girl at a pet store as G. rosea but part of me thinks she may be porteri. Now, I don't know the differences between the two, but I've read that they get mixed up frequently, and that porteri supposedly has less pink on the carapace. She molted on 3/19/2013 and is still...

    Venemous look a likes?

Look into the Nerodia genus, or water snakes. They mimic cottonmouths/ water moccasins. IMO, theyre one of the best mimics out there (that I know of).

Fairfax County, Virginia Considers Tarantulas Poisonous

Oh really? Is that why since 1990 there have only been ten deaths[1] attributed to captive constricting snakes? Thats 0.45 deaths per year. Now lets look at the statistics for dogs, between 2005 and 2012 there have been 251 attacks by dogs that have resulted in death[2]. Thats 31.375 deaths per...

    First snake (first herp!)

Man he looks fantastic! I gotta get me some more Lampro's. I'm sorry, but apart from washing your hands after handling prey, none of that is necessary. A little piece of of substrate being ingested is going to do nothing to harm the snake. There are a ton of people who have been feeding...

    Uhh, tarantula and snake cohabitation?!

Your right that the snake doesnt have eyelids. But what they do have is a thick cap covering the eye made of keratin. The hairs wouldnt do anything to hurt the snakes eyes. Not true. Corn snakes have no heat receptors. They hunt primarily by chemoreception through the tongue and jacobsons...

    Uhh, tarantula and snake cohabitation?!

There is no way that corn snake is going to eat the tarantula. Corns are strictly carnivorous. They could definitly kill eachother though if one or both felt the need to act defensively. Its kind of mind boggling that the guy thought to put them together. I dont understand how that idea could...
