Just make sure the substrate level is high since you say the nhandu is 5 inches, I'd make the distance from the top of the substrate to the lid of the tank about 5.5-6 inches
I believe they need to be sexually mature in order to sex them. Once they are mature, it's my understanding that you have to look at their terminal segment. If the terminal segment is of equal width as the rest of the segments you've got a male, if not female

Sounds like a chilobrachys would be perfect for you! They can be kept very similar to the obt except when you fill it's water dish, just let it overflow into the substrate a little. If I were to suggest a particular species, I'd say fimbriatus there stunning!!!

My M.balfouri is almost always out. It has it's burrow but the slightest disturbance and it crawls right out to see what's going on. Haplos are one thing and I can see why those who aren't big fans of them calling them pet holes but the term doesn't fit this species
