it's parted in the shaped of a cone along the top of abdomen down to about a milimeter above her spinnerets tapering off from a complete 1/4"-1/2" split at the base of her thorax. it looks like some of the go they excrete during the molt just kind of stuck it to her abdomen.
My 4" H Lividum "Fancy Nancy" started her molt about 6 hours ago and she's gotten her entire upper body including all of her legs out but it seems like shes having trouble getting her abdomen off. I know your not suppose too bother a T during molts but due to how shes positioned and how the...
At this point i dunno if i'm not just trying to delay the inevitable or actually helping her. 3 of her legs are very clearly broken and none of the others look verye good either
so i can't tell how much she actually drank but i filled a small spoon with warm water and held it under her mouth for a few seconds. im guessing she got more on her than in her but every time i gave her more she moved her legs a little bit. i gave her about 5 spoons this time and i figure in...
i usually run a fogger in her and my avics cages that keeps the humidity around 70% if drops bellow that i mist their cages too
heres a picture, my camera sucks but you can kind of see the depressions in her abdomen. She's wet from the mister i use the stupid tube shifted to the left and was...
i set up kind of a make shift ICU in her tank last night i'll wet it down a little more and yes she was actually living in water dish for the past few days
she doesn't smell or anything and she's actually still a live i just saw her move her pedipalps just a little tiny bit, but i'm still concerned about the compression in her abdomen
my 7" female t stirmi has rolled up into what appears to be a death curl. i know some tarantulas molt in upright positions but it looks like she passed away due to the fact that her abdomen has developed a little dip to it. Has anyone encountered a molt like this or do i need to say goodbye to my T?
I've already got her in the ICU and i don't wanna pester her anymore. And theoretically she could be male but as i've never seen 100% proof of her being female (i've only had her around 5 months never had her molt yet) but the site i got her off of (Netbug.net) said she was sexed via molt.
I've started too get very worried about my T stirmi, abigail. She's stopped feeding, been slow, and sluggish for a few weeks now which i figured may be due to an upcoming molt. Recently however she's gotten a lot worse in the past few days she's gotten to the point where it looks like she's...
so i've never had an arboreal tarantula before my little avic versicolor so i don't really know what to expect from his molts hes already got the top of carapace (thorax?) off and he's pulling his fangs out a little bit. but he's in a kind weird position, he used a small suction cupped on fake...
I just got my 5" female OBT like 4 hours ago and she seems, dare i say, gentle. I own a haplopelma lividum and a particularly nasty Theraphosa stirmi so i'm fairly used to nervous and highly defensive Ts. Every word i've heared about pternochilus murinus is that they're the bloodthirsty pit...
My 7" T stirmi is acting really funky. she's been drinking a lot of water but hasn't fed in a couple weeks and moving really awkwardly. she's kind of like slowly lumbering around like she's sort of confused or tired and just not walking around in the normal way youd expect out of most T's i've...
i understand the apprehension to using things large enough to hurt your T, i usually don't but with her especially i have no concern with it hurting her it was only about half the size of her thorax.
