    Poorly Pamphobeteus sp Machalla :(

Could very well be. Hope she pulls through. Keep us updated.

    Mystery pokie matured VERY small

Hybrid? Not unusual for hybrids to be especially small in other invertebrates. I've seen Samia sp. hybrids recently that were a mere 1.5" compared to the 5-6" parents (or larger even). Citheronia too. Also in some butterflies and beetles. Unclear morphology and diminutive size are...

    Pamphobeteus spp. mature size?

Oops, I just read the question as relating to females and missed the gender part completely lol. Obviously you'll know when he's mature so besides the spermatheca part the rest still stands. Size varies so maturity or proximity to maturity in a specific number of molts as gauged by a ruler...

    What is this mutant thing?!

Pics would be very helpful. Can you describe better please? More specific details might help. By that I mean things like approximate length, thickness, overall shape, color, estimate of leg number, etc. Anything descriptive that isn't a reference to a movie type of detail lol. Or you could...

Bed bugs in apartment. Have 27 tarantulas. Help!

Yep, hot temps universally are the only solution. You couldn't survive them. Move them elsewhere and have management treat. If they won't, then move yourself too.

    Pamphobeteus spp. mature size?

They are mature when the spermatheca are scloreotized. Can vary from individual to individual. I had an 8" male. Gz BTW, best genus ever IMO. really have to look at molts though to be positive of maturity, size isn't sure fire.

    'Expiry' date of body party

I don't really care about bolus unless they are growing mold or unsightly. I figure I clean my own bolus enough to be bothered by another organisms ;)

    Pesticide question

Exactly correct. Exactly. So little is known about insecticides (note insect) and any spiders. Because they are valuable ere on the side of caution. However so far all evidence that any run of the mill pesticide has any effect on any spider other than prey reduction is non existent. We...

Mimosa pudica (Sensitive/ Touch me not plant)

Yes, there are ways to tell morphologically. The easy character visible in your first set of photos is the number of branchlets. There will be only 4-6 or so on pudica (total, 2-3 pairs) and many more on the other species, regardless of height. You can distinguish between the remaining...

Mimosa pudica (Sensitive/ Touch me not plant)

What you have is not pudica. It does not change habit- it can look "tall" in a somewhat viney, upright sense, but it is always diminutive. You are looking at either M. pigra or M. diplotricha. Both look virtually identical to M. pudica but are far grander in stature. Unfortunately my work...

    Misting moss instead of substrate

I do this too- put a little moss colony in each tank that I can wet via misting. Simulates dew on low scrub, seems like the most natural way for a T to find water in some cases. And the fine structure of the moss helps collect lots of very small droplets. I don't see any reason why it's not...

    Pokie lying on the ground

Could be considering molting. Mine do that sometimes before they decide to molt. Yes, it is a choice... what to wear today? Should I break out the new dress? Or will some other pokie show up in the same thing and force me to trash talk her behind her back to all my friends... hmmm...

    Shaking/convulsing

That's good, hopefully he is on the mend. Make sure he's getting water, dropper if necessary. I have a personal suspicion that when Ts get this locomotion problem their decline is hastened due to not being able to get water and correct whatever ionic imbalance is occurring (just a theory, but...

    Shaking/convulsing

Sorry I haven't been keeping up, I caught the new Australian norovirus... hazards of working in a hospital. No fun. Any who, all better now. So from your description I would think that contaminated food and bedding are out. Alternative sources of contamination could tools, handling, water...

    good names for ts

I think Poecilotheria has a nice ring to it ;) I'm lazy and let science/hobby name them for me lol. If it were up to my girl they would be "eww," "yucky," "gross," "get-that-away-from-me," and "I-don't-even-want-to-see-it." Thus no reason to bother.

    Shaking/convulsing

It's not a disease!!! DKS is made up. The actual term is dyskinesia which is the exact same thing as saying "not moving right," it is a term snatched from medicine and used for any and all cases presenting an apparent inability to move deliberately. DKS is not an abbreviation for dyskinesia...

Mimosa pudica (Sensitive/ Touch me not plant)

The "lawn weed" pudica stays diminutive, not sure what the one that grows up is but it's not pudica. Pudica has flowers that look like big Q-tips or something, whole top is a messy tangle of flowers that face all directions compared to the Albizia which has the flowers that radiate out more in...

    Mystery T

Doesn't look like albiceps to me at all, my female was very much a cooler and lighter gold from early on. Maybe vagans/sabulosum/angustum. Or Aphonopelma which was my first thought as well. Note that just because no tarantulas are in Delaware to collect in the wild doesn't mean a WC tarantula...

    Aphonopelma sp. carls bad green

Maybe because it's one of the areas we still get lots of WC specimens from? Slow to grow= expensive to produce adults and still available to collect in the wild thus most of the dealing with them is done with WC specimens since they are much cheaper. I think most of the spiders available in...
