What do you do to keep the humidity up? How long have you had her in this enclosure? I also noticed last night that my spider was out and exploring as soon as the lights went out.
Thank you for the responses. I haven't had much luck finding a good enclosure locally. I would go with a sterilite but I have a wife they wants something that looks good as well :) not only functional so I need to find something in the middle. The search continues.
Not my first T as I mentioned in my original post. I have had many before. It is my first Old world T though. I just received some bad info from the pet store when I got her. Also, as I mentioned in my post the pictures were before I found out about the bad info. I have since sprayed and am...
I recently bought an H. Lividium. It was an impulse buy. I have always wanted one and the pet store I normally go to had one when I was there getting crickets for my G Rosea and I caved. ;) I knew their characteristics and difficulty but wasn't sure about the substrate and humidity requirement...
My T stirmi molted last night and I am a little concerned about her condition tonight. I'm probably overly concerned about her being that this is my first molt with her. Also being that she is Theraphosa it concerns me even more. She is completely molted now but she is sitting in the back of her...
I have the room I am keeping her in at 80 degrees. I have been having a hard time keeping up the humidity. What is your opinion on the Repti Fogger? I just bought it today and it seems to be doing the trick.
I'm almost positive mt T Stirmi is in Pre-molt based on other threads I have looked at. She has been a rabid eater from day one, I've had her for 9 months, and just about a month ago she stopped eating and she is acting very lethargic. I have seen differing opinions on how long pre-molts on a...
I've had my T Stirmi (Naya) for over 9 months now and she has never really gone in her burrow/cave I created for her. I have about 4 inches of substrate, the room I am keeping her is a consistent 80 degrees and I keep the humidity between 70 and 80%. Is there something else I should be doing...
Everything I've read says to keep the temperature between 80 and 90 degrees. Does anyone have a way of keeping the temperature up without using a heating pad, or having a room solely for tarantula keeping? I have read that a heating pad is not a good idea.
To be honest, that makes a lot more sense. The pictures/videos I've been seeing looked different. I was just assuming she would look like that when she grew. The guy really seemed like he knew what he was talking about. I'm questioning if I should trust the female guarantee. ;) So the question...
