Im the same way, I developed a bad allergy to my dubias and had to get rid of a 10000+ colony.
I just couldnt deal with them anymore...welts, itchy throat, sneezing etc...
On topic- I really wouldnt be suprised if the roaches did have something to do with the mans passing.

Not near as much of that here in central oklahoma...either too damn hot or too damn cold.
Im no ichthyologist but im sure in fish its just excessive mucous....some, like jaguar cichlids, produce so much it sloughs off...others, like discus, some angels, african cichlids etc... Seem to only develop a thicker slime coat...
I watched the video of the caecilian...very interesting.
I would have pics of a very recent pairing of Grammostola pulchripes but I didnt want to risk being too slow on saving the male...hes supposedly fairly fresh, he eats but is very inactive and wont make a sperm web to save his life.

No idea on an id but the stems look too woody to be a selaginella....i could be wrong but I doubt selaginella.
From the pics it almost looks coniferous....

Not necessarily true, on difficulty of care or cost of care....especially if she can find well acclimated imports.
