I didn't have a black trapdoor. I had a red, gorgyrella sp. I NEVER handled that thing. I named it Charlotte, but it was the devil. I kept it in a pretty tall fish tank, I converted. I made, what I thought was a pretty cool enclosure. I made, basically a graveyard, with crickets names on...
Not sure when they lay egg sacs in the wild, but I know when mine flicks it hairs at me in captivity!!!!! Everytime I open the cage. LOL. Sorry, couldn't be more helpful.
I live in Kentucky, and where I work, I have to go and read water meters in the ground. I swear I find them almost every single day under the lids. My wife only limits me to one at the moment though. One of my favorite spiders, so misunderstood also.
I just name mine the first thing that pops in my head after I look at them, or usually after a movie character.
Their names:
Roscoe (OBT)
Aiden ( H. mac)
Eden (H. mac)
Scarlet, Sonja, Willow (B. vagans)
Mist, Mikayla, Josslyn (T. ockerti)
Clover girl (G. rosea)
Liv ( H. lividum)

My female and male P. regalis are like night and day. He is a long legged, light brown color, while her colors are way more beautiful, no brown on her and she is a bigger. Cheers.
My versi is the complete opposite, it is an inch roughly, and took down a cricket a little bigger than it. I was like, holy crap. Though, its an eating machine.
Sorry for the loss, It always breaks my heart when one of my babies dies unexpectedly. People can't seem to comprehend that they are our pets, just like a dog or cat. So when they die, it frikken hurts. Again, sorry to hear it.
Don't worry, this isn't one of those "I like to get drunk and play with my spiders" kind of post. Rather, my little story of how a few Tarantula's helped me out of a really dark place in my life. After a bad divorce, I started to drink, a lot more than normal, heavily at times. I moved from a...
How long will she stay by the sac? She hasn't moved from it in 5 days. She has herself webbed in her hide. I know eventually she is going to have to come out and eat, right? I'm gonna feel bad when I have to take it from her.
If I can raise the little guys, I will just give them away more than likely. I was under the impression that it is hard to sell G. rosea slings, because most would rather buy an adult for about $15 then raise a sling for 6 or 7 years.
While going to the pet shop with my 10 year old daughter, to get crickets for our other T's. She saw a G. rosea in a cage. Of course, the daddy PLEASE get me that spider, worked. I got it for her, as her first spider, to take care of with my help. Well, that was about a month and a half ago...
