    Drift wood?

Driftwood is not a type of wood. If I throw a piece of cedar in the lake it becomes driftwood but it's still CEDAR:wall: :wall: :wall:

    Why do they do this?

It's not just a dance. I have a super-sensitive microphone and I've recorded a happy song as well. Now all I have to do is translate it. Anyone here speak Arachnid? (LOL) And, yes they can sing with their mouth full!!!{D {D {D {D {D

I wouldn't mix it with peat. That will change its properties.

thinking of geting a c- cyaneopubescens - aka as greenbottle blue

I have a female GBB that's about 3". She's great. No problem molts: very quick but not agressive. She webs her space but doesn't do water dish. She drinks readily from water dish. She has never attempted to bite but she has tried a few escapes when I removed the top of enclosure. She's very...

    Burrowing molt

"Let It Be"!!! They don't know that they are supposed to entertain us! In my few years with this obsession, I've learned that they don't dance to my tune. I rather like to imagine that they are buried in the hide planing my frustration. But I will PREVAIL. I hear them laughing at me!!!!!{D {D {D...

    Find the Feeders

I keep my tanks dry except for water dish. If I see remains I remove it. When an exuvium is left accessible, I remove it. I don't want people knocking on my door so I don't knock on theirs.;)

    Light

My statement was "resemble the natural environment" not that they must have natural light. Also all Ts live in a world where the sun rises and sets every day. Where do the Ts exist that can thrive only in areas devoid of light?

    Light

Just because Ts are more active in low light doesn't mean that no light all of the time is good for them. Humans are more active(working not partying LOL) during daylight but I've lived and worked in areas of 24 hours of daylight and it can be very stressful. Light levels should resemble the...

    housing change

I wouldn't bet any money on sexing based on those pics. But I also wouldn't worry about losing him(her) any time soon. I have an B. albopilosum that I suspect is male. He's about 4" now and molts about every 10-12 months. No hooks yet and very interesting specimen. I have lots of females but...

    i have a question

That's always been my contention on here. If someone asks a question, they're laying bare their souls. If a friend asks a sincere question do you refer them to a time in the past when you answered that same inquiry for another friend. If to repeat an answer is too much trouble then hang out...

    would this system work?

My humble advice - don't waste your time on humidity! I don't and everybody's HAPPY - normal molts, no mold, no infestations, all eating, don't change substrate, don't clean very often. Kindness Kills!!!!!!!!!!!!:shame:

    Bad info from pet stores

Did any of you guys look at the salary that these places pay? Do you know any vets or "potentials" that work for that? A friend of mine works for Pets Unlimited and he's a big time T keeper. He does the best he can to influence the care of their "For Sale" Ts but it's no easy task. He has had...

    Question about growth rate

I have a B. vagans that I got as a freebie from Avery Exotics in September, 2005. At that time it was a 0.5" sling. Right now she is 3.0"+ and growing rapidly.

    New T molt query

This is not an indication of impending molt. As the molt approaches you can watch this patch get darker as the new exoskeleton covered in hair developes beneath this window which was created when the tarantula flicked the uticating hairs that covered this spot.

    my first t

I hesitate to agree with you since I have been too often "desiccated" for my opinions on AB but I have empathy with your feelings. Too bad when we of little experience have to feel insecure because of those with "all" the experience. There I've done it again and now I'll cover my head and let...
