    Chaco with a fat ass?

Thats pretty fat and I think I agree with those that say premolt thats a dark looking Chaco. I will admit my Chaco looked like it was more tick than T when it was tiny I have finally learned what pace to feed them. I feed them just enough now to keep their abdomens just barely larger than their...

    5" Grammostola pulchripes not eating

I think your T is getting close to a molt. Her colors are getting kind of dull. A freshly moulted Chaco is a beautiful sight to behold. My Chacos get very slow and sluggish before a molt my MF will not move if you do not make her. When I got my MF (about the same size as yours) she did not...

    LP molting?

Around that size they start to get their adult colors and look darker naturally. My .75" is still light tan colored like a sling my 1.5" L. parahybana slings are very much micro midget versions of an adult Lp color wise. They seem to grow attitude with legspan my small sling will cooperate...

    chaco sling wont eat

If it is not in premolt (more than likely). Feed it prekilled items. Leave the prekilled items in the enclosure in a few hours if a chaco sling is not eating the prekilled item within 20 minutes they are in premolt. I remember when my chaco was so small that I would feed it the last four or...

    Ive been shot!

I am blown away by the accuracy these poo flingers possess. I love my avics alot but the few times I do handle them I make sure the business end is not pointed anywhere near my face. My A. avic will blast me in a heartbeat if he gets a clear shot at my face.

    zoom zoom...JUMP

zoom zoom.... JUMP Describes my 2.5" versi very well Its funny how I knew this thread was about a versicolor before I clicked on it. Out of all ten of my cool Ts im pretty sure my versi would be the hardest to get rid of. S/he has loads of personality and hits her prey like a big truck with no...

Example of what pre-molt looks like

In my experience it is easy to tell if G. pulchra is in pre-molt. The jet black shiny beautiful velvet color changes to a more brownish color it seems more dull. My G. pulchra also eats anything and everything so if s/he refuses a meal I know to expect a new larger prettier T soon.

    Aka...

If you want poo flinging avics just come see my two. Better bring some glasses they both have good aim. Avic poop in the eye is not fun. Don't ask me how I know. I only handle my Ts after they molt for some pics with my avics I always make sure they do not get oriented with abdomens...

    Skittish Slings?

My slings all seem to have clamed down a bit with each molt at the same time my most skittish Ts as tiny slings are still my most skittish Ts. Most improved award goes to my A. versicolor.

    g.rosea or a rock?

I love my large G.rosea she stretches out into a perfect picture pose and stays that way for weeks. Shes so lazy that she will not even eat unless her food comes to her. I see why they call them pet rocks I still love her because of her docile disposition and how she seems to care less when I...

    my molted 1inch lp sling

One of my three Lps is molting as I type. Im excited I finally get to watch :D. My Lp is around an inch also I cant wait to see how much it grew. I usually wait a week after a molt and only once have I had a T turn down food at the one week mark. My 6" G.rosea waited almost a month after her...

    B.smithi or B.Emilia. Can't decide??? Opinions

It is hard to pass up a female but I would take the B. emilia my 1.5" emilia is stunning and completely docile. She (thinking positive) has never tried to kick hairs. After her last molt I tried to handle her for some photos and she was so scared she just froze in place I felt sorry for her...

Pamphobeteus sp. "platyomma" female post molt 6 days out and about

My large G. rosea did this freaked me out I thought something bad happened during her molt. All of my other Ts eat like they are starving after a molt. About week three she slowly walked over and snatched up a superworm shes been eating at every opportunity since. Good to hear your t is ok.

Grammostola pulchripes (Chaco Golden Knee Tarantula)

My 6" female is a sweetheart I love her and hope nothing ever happens to her I hope she lives forever. I can cup her flip her on her back open my hand and she will lay there on her back until you touch one of her feet then she will use you as leverage to flip herself over. I have pics on my...

    Must have species?

    A. versicolor cocky very cocky i have to make sure its food is not too big to injure it. My lil guy dont care I think he would fight a prey item to his death. Love his attitude. G. pulchra or pulchripes both of these are great burrowers and have an intricate tunnel/escape system built B...

    Tarantula accidents

I had a moment and knocked my G. pulchripes sling in his deli cup enclosure off of my spider box about three feet to the floor. I said some bad words and thought some more bad words. I picked up his enclosure and took off the top and could not even find him then he came crawling out of the sub...
