Well I tried myself but I can't come to a conclusion (I know a molt would be better and this pic can't be conclusive). With that said, my guess is female? Any help is always appreciated.
Well, I had mine held at the FedEx station so I wouldn't be bouncing around in a truck all day. So I went to pick it up and the woman at the counter managed to push the box off the edge. I then said be careful because there's a live animal in there. So what does she do? Turns the box upside...
My T sling molted yesterday in a web that it spun and it's in there with the old molt. When is it safe to carefully go in with tongs & remove it? I don't want to disturb the T but I was worried about it as far as bacteria forming on the molt, etc, and the T being so close to it.
:) Good luck & have fun! I just got my first one at the beginning of the month & on advice from forum members here, I bought "The Tarantula Keeper's Guide". It's VERY informative. The members here are also fantastic & always ready to help!
My GBB sling went to the top of it's containter and webbed from the top to the side. Now I can't open it without destroying it's web. Do I just destroy the web or leave it for awhile? Eventually I have to put food & water in there so I guess the answer is obvious.
I guess I'm just thinking...
I actually saw a molting last week at a Petco. A Pinktoe made a hammock type web from the top of it's cage and molted in it. I saw it again yesterday and it was really beautiful. The LPS employee said it's lived there for over 2 years.
