Here is an interesting article about spiders and how they 'stick' to surfaces. The subject of the study appears to be a wolf spider, and they say it could hold 170x it's own weight while hanging from the ceiling! Sorry if this is already posted somewhere...

I'm up in DFW, but my sister lives down in roundrock. I've been meaning to head down there sometime... I have tried looking for webbed burrows, but I havent had a lot of success there. I'll have to try lifting rocks, although you never know what your going to find under a rock:eek:

My A. hentzi crawls around the cage dragging his but and smears it everywhere anyway, so I don't think it matters if they can shoot it or not, they will get it where they want it regardless...

My little T is a wild caught that I picked up off the road. He did (and still does sometimes) spend a bit of time examining his new surroundings, seemingly probing for a way out. But he seems to have settled in pretty well. Be sure to look on this forum for ways to tell if it is a mature male...

I have to admit I hate the crickets also, always chirping away like idiots. I looked at some roaches on the web, lobster roaches I think, I wasn't sure about convincing my boss that I needed to keep a bunch of roaches in the office though :) What kind of roaches would be best for a 2.5 inch...
