My wifes cousin ran crying from the room as soon as she found out there was a tarantula in there with her! But other than that, its usually 'aren't they poisonous?' and then when you take the lid off, 'Don't those things jump?'
Here is an interesting article about spiders and how they 'stick' to surfaces. The subject of the study appears to be a wolf spider, and they say it could hold 170x it's own weight while hanging from the ceiling! Sorry if this is already posted somewhere...
I'm up in DFW, but my sister lives down in roundrock. I've been meaning to head down there sometime... I have tried looking for webbed burrows, but I havent had a lot of success there. I'll have to try lifting rocks, although you never know what your going to find under a rock:eek:
My A. hentzi crawls around the cage dragging his but and smears it everywhere anyway, so I don't think it matters if they can shoot it or not, they will get it where they want it regardless...
