i would have to agree with the others, I am quite positive that your T is fine. My OBTs constantly enclose themselves in substrate and then make a hole and come out whenever they feel like. Most Ts know what they are doing
Yeah I wouldn't worry about them not eating, I had an OBT sling escape on me and drop about 3 ft onto the carpet, nothing happened to it, at that size I feel like that fall isn't that bad, but I would keep a close eye on it to make sure its still moving around and nothing is wrong with its legs...
yeah my first one never made a web, my latest one has kinda been laying webs down here and there, I assume its looking for a place that it want to settle down in. Also I would give at least a good week of not messing with the T, just so it has some time to adjust, this also includes feeding, I...
Well also living in Souther California, I did have about a 1.5 inch Avic. Avic. up and die on me even though I thought I was taking extremely good care of it. I recently got another, though this time about a 3.5 inch so I assume it is most likely past the point of sudden dying. I would just say...
Hey guys, I know there is A tarantula sexing section but since no one has responded on any of the posts I am putting it up here. I want to breed some Avics so I would like to figure out the sex of mine so I can get one of the opposite gender. Here are some pics hopefully you guys can let me...
I tend to feed my tarantulas what they like best, Some like crickets while others like superworms, though I am in the process of bringing up a Dubia Roach colony. Though I would say crickets are a good way to go, since they are readily available almost anywhere
I just started a B. Dubia raoch colony not that long ago, for me its the best way to go, since I can use them for all my animals and they can't climb so its really really hard for them to escape.
sounds like mine before it molted, except mine ate the day before it molted and decided to molt on its side. Went to class, came back and it had finished. But there was a very noticeable color changing, as it got darker just before molting, sorry I don't have any pictures of it.
as soon as I can get some more money I am gonna make my 10 gallon tank into a double enclosure, thinking about housing 2 avics right next to eachother, of course I would separate them and have 2 different lids for each side, but I think it is going to look nice.
Yes I do know the difference, I kinda skimmed over the species and saw metallica and assumed P. Mettalica, I am sorry.
To the last post, its good that it decided to eat the worm, sometimes mine wait awhile before eating too, or don't like to eat while I am watching them.
