just give it some time. i had 3 successful rosea sacs a few months ago. they ranged from 3 months-1 year to lay. just be patient. i had a total of 5 sacs, but 2 were infertile. i love rosies :)
To the OP: i have A. metallica and H. incei that are currently gravid. if they are successful sacs...
thanks for all the replies everyone! i was also playing with the idea that it was possibly A. metallica. im sure the size will prove that fact when he matures. i will see about borrowing a good camera from a friend and taking a better shot of him. i have multiple A. avicularia, the colors look...
this was sold to me as a male A. avicularia. which it could be. but he is around 4.5" and i figured he would be mature by that size. also, he has WAY more hairs than any of my other A. avics. any help is appreciated!
In my experience, OBT's have far more attitude than any of my H. lividum. My lividum are not pet holes either, they are out daily. If you do research and be prepared for the possibilities, I dont see anything wrong with getting either species mentioned above. That being said, if you are scared...
i normally just pour some water in the peat, if it pools i just wait for it to soak up. after it initially soaks that up, the rest that your pour in will soak up very easily! if you dont let peat get completely dry, it will soak up the moisture as soon as you pour water in. i prefer to let mine...
i have a few burrowers that i keep on 100% peat with no troubles at all. my H. crassipes basically took all the peat from the bottom and made 1 huge chamber with nothing supporting the other 5" of peat on top. it has held its shape like that for about 6 months now with no problems. i have never...
Jason, i do sympathize over your situation. im not trying to come off as a jerk or anything. However, i always keep a payment for an order in my paypal account until i know the spiders have arrived safely, or if a situation comes up where a refund is needed. i personally think all sellers should...
i go for peat moss, simply for the fact i have so many T's. doing a large scale sub change with eco earth becomes expensive very quickly....but if money wasnt the issue, i would go for eco earth
i have a soft spot for G. rosea. that being said, i have 5 females and currently 1 MM, but had 3 MM previously, before they passed on. the only time i honestly have ever seen them (the females) act in any defensive nature, was when they were approaching a molt. other than that, they are all very...
container wise, for my slings i like to use the hotwheels/matchbox display cases. pioneer plastics sells them in bulk. welcome to the addiction and congrats on your B. albo
make sure to have an enclosure ready for when it arrives. unpack it, then transfer it to the enclosure you prepared. it will not be in a prepared container, depending on the size it could be in anything from a straw to a deli cup for shipping.
just curious if things have been resolved?? i sent payment back in july for my order, and still havent received my order either! i havent heard back from him in a few weeks...
