Thanks Patrick! I had the vet come visit, definitely busted my budget LOL. Ruled out most things seems to be some sort of tongue damage! Maybe from a cricket gone awry. Hopefully he recovers on his own otherwise we're gonna have to do like $300 in tests next.. O_o
Thank you everyone :)
I do have a problem with him :( I think he might have RI or something is up, he's not using his tongue at all and these guys use it all the time. I think im taking him to a vet, hopefully that doesnt do more harm than good. Keep ya posted!
Hello guys
Here's what i got set up so far, dimensions are somewhat small but the monitor is a baby right now. its roughly 4x4x2
I provided ample hides in there, including one in each corner and the cork tube under the hot spot. Temps at basking site are good (120-130) but rest of the...
guys, ive actually backed out of that tank. After thinking and thinking about it, i went with a 48x40x40 reptiracks for $400 instead of this. I figure by the time im done with it i would spend close to $400 anyway or more, and it might not be an optimal home for my new friend.
better safe...
Thank you guys :)
i asked this same question on monitor forums (varanus) and holy crap they're tearing me apart haha. What a nice bunch of people so far
I'm almost looking forward to the DYI part of this, will be quite an investment but should turn out pretty great :)
Hello guys,
I am acquiring this 86x30x30 arboreal enclosure originally made for an iguana. My goal is to convert it into an arboreal monitor enclosure (have a green tree monitor lined up to go in it).
To start off, here's a crappy phone picture, ill take better pics when it gets delivered...
Thank you, im pretty sure this guy is a nobody, it was a craig's list deal. I might have convinced him to give me a refund actually after much argueing, this is all pending Paul's (breeder's) word on the snake. We'll see what happens, im almost leery of the refund.. i have to travel to his part...
yup i did, waiting for a reply. What's the average "value" of a regular adult male or female ball?

After talking to the guy some more, who is refusing to give me a refund btw, its clearly a scam. First of all...
thank you guys, i jumped on a good deal too fast and was not careful, this is the result. Obviously the seller is not exactly being cooperative to say the least, just saying that it is the same BP, bla bla. This means i can't trust the sex either since its not the same animal as on the card ><
Well i think i made a noob mistake. I saw a local advertisement for a 100% het albino ball python looking for a new home (with papers) so i jumped on it for an attractive price. Snake looks healthy enough but upon closer inspection of papers and patterns on snake, i do not see a resemblance...
i hear ya, and i agree, i'll just take a look anyway since he's so close and report my findings to you. maybe take a picture or two myself. Thanks so much for all the help!
ah i definitely see it now. Interesting, looks like its in pretty horrible shape. Owner said she also had mites but he's pretty sure she's rid of them now. But for the sake of arguement lets say she does have mites. He says he will adopt her out for $100, i can probably make that $75 after...
very interesting, thanks for the advice! I did worry about the folds, but where do you see the stuck sheds, sorry im not very good at spotting them, from a picture anyway.
Hello,
lately ive been looking for an invert to add to my collection and after thinking about a brazillian boa, a chameleon, or even a dwarf monitor i finally found what i really want... a green tree python (or possibly a tree boa)
just seems like a perfect display animal for a planted tank...
