I was hoping to get more info about Thrixopelma pruriens ( Peruvian green velvet). I am looking into purchasing one from my LPS. It look like it could be a awesome T to own.
Hello all. My name is Chris, I have been a subscriber to the board for awhile now. Back in 2010 my wife who is also on this board as Seezilla, became very interested in spiders she started watching youtube videos and googling info about T's. She came across a youtuber named Tarantulaguy1976. He...
I so would like to try again with your care sheet. Which I thank you for your information. I'm just so iffy on spending time and money just to lose another one or two. I like the Versicolor and Metallica. Maybe in a few months when it's a little warmer I will give it shot.
After reading these post. I might try avics again. I had a hard time keeping them. If it wasn't enough vent holes it wasn't enough humidity. Or just plain bad luck.

I don't know who's dumb enough to hold fish but if that's what you do be my guest. As I had stated my bios opinion. If your trying to be funny it isn't. In some cases you may have to handle your T. And in those situations I rather it be a Chaco Golden knee or an Avic.
In my bios opinion Chaco Golden knees are awesome. Slow growers yet awesome. I had a fear of holding any Spiders but my Avics and Chaco Golden knee help me get over my fears.

Yeah my son was excited after we put the T up in its home. He asked if he can get his own. Wife and I explained to him when he gets older and can do tasks with out being told he can have one. My step daughter is 8 and only holds and helps feed T's and Geckos and my fish when we can visibly watch...
Ok the spider and the kid was in no danger. Both my wife and I were surrounding him. The spider is super calm and not flighty. And yeah I am not going to let him handle my P. Ornata.
