My T. albo lost one of his spinnerets, not really sure what happened there as it happened at the pet store we got him from before I had him. It's been almost 2 years and multiple molts without even a sign that it's going to regrow. Doesn't seem to bother him at all though.
Not in Denver, but down in Southern Colorado. :) I see posts from people mentioning things here in Colorado fairly often here, so there seems to be a decent number of us.
I've had Ts flip personalities on me from molt to molt often enough that now I'm just like yep, they do that. I don't know really know the technical reason why they do that, but it does seem to be a thing.
If eating oranges near your spiders killed them, I think mine would have been toast ages ago. I often sit near my spider shelf at night and wander the internet and oranges are my fave nighttime snack. I wouldn't necessarily coat your hands in orange juice and stir up their substrate, or offer...
Ah that makes sense. I'm not often on 2/3 of those very often and I stay away from the tarantula side of TikTok because there's just so. much. handling. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut on those so I just avoid them since I know they won't listen/care what I say anyways and I don't want...
I'm in a bunch, but I regularly hit the "snooze for 30 days" button on facebook for this very reason. The "I got a spider and don't even know what it is" are the ones that drive me the most insane. I can stomach seeing them on my daily feed for about 1-2 weeks before its time for another break...
That's definitely poop. My avics are master sharpshooters with their rear ends and I have ended up with various sized little clumps of spider turd on me that look just like this a multitude of times.
I do appreciate though when people post about when things go wrong rather than the silence. It helps prevent other people from wanting to try the same.
My bigger LP is like this lol. I sneeze? Runs away while kicking and hides in the corner or their hide for 2 days. Feed them? Prepare for it to be 10 hours before they calm down enough to be like oh wait a second, FOOD. The littler sling, who I've had for longer but is just not thriving very...
Pictures and/or videos of the spider and what's happening let people see what you're describing so they can better tell what's going on, whether its normal behavior or a response to being ill or a husbandry issue, etc. Pictures of the enclosure let them see if there's maybe something in the...
My P. irminia tossed their molt out of their web tubing, but they haven't made an appearance themself yet. My A. minatrix sling meanwhile decided to molt in plain sight on top of their web tube for some reason lol. Pictures pending because I didn't want to bother them mid-molt.
I'd only be willing to move around bark or dig around for them if I smelled something funny or if it had been literally months since any sign of them. Mine are in my room, so I visually can check on them without bothering them pretty often.
I believe one of the moderators may have moved it back to the correct subforum. I've seen them move other threads before when they were posted to the wrong subforum.
My toddler only gets to look at their cages if I'm carrying him, but so far he likes them well enough. He has a few plastic tarantulas (two are accurateish, the last I just have to accept is a fantasy species lol) and a couple toy scorpions that he likes to play with. I'm not sure yet how his...
From what I can see, there are 4 limbs (pedipalps/legs) out at least and the abdomen. Looks like its going fine from what I can see.I made a badly edited picture showing where I can see them but my internet is utterly refusing to let me upload it at the moment.
I see the same. :)
