Found this guy at my LPS labeled as a vietnamese bird eater, picked him up, threw him on wood chips for the time bein cuz it was all I had, transfered him to cocofiber today but took these pics beforehand, anyone know if hes an H Minax or what?
so i added cocofiber today (a little late i know), hes still small but he has about 4 inches of packed cocofiber to burrow in, very moist, so im waiting for him to start burrowing anytime now hopefully.
Yea im aware its not the best substrate, it was only temporary until i could get the t on somethin better, so cocofiber? will that be fine for burrowing?
OK, so the other day I picked up a t that was labeled as a tawny red baboon spider. Hes about a 2" legspan and i believe hes a hysterocrates gigas. Ill try to get pics up for an ID, but i was wondering, what kinda of set up should i hav for him (or her). Right now its in a medium critter...
well, basically, heres the story, i was at my house, and i found a HUGE mosquito, so i killed it, seeing as my normal first instinct is to kill them. well, after looking at it, i thought id find out wut species gets as big as this one, and i found the largest mosquitos known supposedly dont come...
there used to be 3 foot scorpions, they were called brontoscorpio and they lived in land and water and supposedly had a stinger the size of a lightbulb, too bad theyve been extinct for ages :(
an imposter
the picture is faked, the object in the picture is nothing more than a model of a prehistoric amphibian called diplocaulus, which was a real animal at one time, but went extinct during the permian i believe, the picture was made by a japanese model maker...
hey, i was interested in these arachnids and i was wondering abotu basic care info, specifically whats the bare minimum cage size for one, how often should i feed them, what is the setup supposed to be like and are they handleable? any help is appreciated
reminds me of a time i went to clean out the remains of my pede's victims, and went to pull out the front hafl of one of the crickets, and to my surprise, it hopped to its feet and started running around like it normally would, even though it had been envenomated and it was missing an abdomen
id look into hadogenes troglodytes or hadogenes paucidens, paucidens is more colorful while troglodytes is bigger, both have a very weak venom though, prolly weaker than an emps venom from what ive heard, and they rarely sting. they also dont require too much special care
yeah, i dont think id consider mine small, i got him (or her, i refer to it as a he) from krazy8's, and its about 4 inches, these max out at 6 inches i believe? im not sure though, and it did grab me with its terminators like you refered to, the last time it did it, it hurt a little, i think...
i decided that id try handling my tanzanian blue-ring and i wasnt disappointed with it at all
everything you said about these guys was very true caco, this particular one wasnt aggressive at all and i even grabbed him and picked him up without any sort of defensive reaction...
is it possible to keep a mole as a pet, i was thinking about it today and thought id ask. id assume they just need a lot of room to dig and plenty of earthworms, but i assumed there was more to it, so i thought id ask
