I was thinking they might be Apheloria tigana.. They're everywhere right now! I caught 5 under the first piece of wood near our backyard stream.. I cut up several wooden beams and placed them near swampy terrain, and they're all over there right now.
NC Millipede ID request?
I'm in North Carolina near the GA line, and it's been raining a ridiculous amount.. I've been finding these guys everywhere! Does anyone know what species they are?
Indeed it does. I wasn't doubting your ID and such, all I said was it looks different from what I've seen locally and such. Though, it would make sense really due to the fact the vendor purchased them from a guy locally in South Carolina (Who most likely caught them himself to sell off).
Either...
Thanks for your input.
Edit: I wish I had been able to ID them myself, but they look somewhat different from the V. carolinianus I've caught around where I am.
So, on July 15th I went to Repticon of Columbia, SC and purchased two scorpions labeled "Centruroides gracilis scorplings", however they're obviously not that (One has even given birth since), though I personally have no idea as to what they are, so if anyone can help me out it would be...
I was wondering if that's the case.. Ah well, I'll release it then.
@ Caco: It was just running around near an old tire stuck in the ground, no webbing or anything.
Appreciate the help.
I went out into the woods with a few friends today looking for snakes and such and found a spider with an Orange-ish coloration. It looks rather interesting, and I'm curious as to what it is... It's about the same size as some of the Wolf spiders we get around here.
I live in Western North...
Thanks for the ID's
Well here's another question. I planned to collect some isopods and breed them for a while until I'm sure they're safe (which I'm sure they are already due to no pesticides where I collect), but with the secretions have any effect on the Isopods when they're in my scorpion...
I went out with some friends on Wednesday to look for scorps at an area that they've seen them before, and while I didn't find any, I found some Millipedes which I thought looked really interesting.. All I know about the orange and pinkish/blackish ones are that they're Polydesmids, not sure...
Last reply to the thread before Felmor posted was at: 07-15-2010 12:41 PM.. So I doubt you'll be getting a reply from the person who was originally selling them, but who knows.
I didn't know if anyone would reply, thanks! I'll make sure to take some pictures of whatever I get and post them here as well.. Now to add Tailless Whip Scorpions to my hunting list when down there.
Hey there, I'm sure this is WAYYYY too early to be posting asking about this however.. I'm going to Florida in March, Cape Coral specifically and I've never been Scorpion hunting (Well... Haven't been Scorpion hunting with success before anyways), so I was curious if anyone knows of Scorpions...
I agree 100% with this statement, it's just I go search and see questions asked before, that have outraged members posting in it that supply a link to the old question, it's true that maybe people should use the search function, but if senior members are so outraged and do such wouldn't that...
Nice, of all the animals which I've been interested in throughout my life to keep as a pet (Eels, Stingrays, Scorpions, Tarantulas, Frogs, etc.) Scorpions have just been able to hold my attention the most, they're so fascinating, and also, I don't intend to ask stupid questions, if I do however...
Figured it was something common, just found it interesting honestly, and it was probably.. 2 AM EST at the time I posted that, needless to say I was tired and rushed to do this without much thought, and nah if the Crickets continually get it to cycling (Which would be awesome..) it would be very...
Honestly after posting this, I felt like an idiot and wanted to delete this thread. :wall:
Also, I'm not really bothered to ASK questions, it's just I see some of the bashing some members do when someone immediately doesn't use the search function or asks a question asked before, plus I'm sure...
Crickets randomly breeding in scorpion enclosure.
Alright so, I've never posted here as I do not need advice on scorpion keeping due to personal research, and I hate to be a bother to the senior members, ANYWAYS. I turned my Emperor scorpion enclosure light off a few hours ago, and as I was...
