Ty RTTB. I'm not able to get out and get any at the moment so I thought I'd throw in the smallest of my small crickets and fish it out later if I needed to. Went back a couple hours later and there is no cricket to be seen. I will keep checking in case it dug itself in to the soil but it seems...
Went to water a plant and this crawled out of the bottom of the pot. Guessing it is some type of garden centepede. Since there is 3 inches of snow on the ground guess I have to try to keep it. it's tiny. I only have med crickets so I don't think those are an option but i probably have tiny...
I feed crickets and dubia roaches. As treats I will feed hornworm caterpillars, that all my T's love. lol I didn't notice how old this post was either. Should be sleeping lol
Believe it or not the best freebie I've ever been given was a little black hole spider. It's not a tarantula but it has a nice disposition and is interesting and long lived. Would love to breed it but don't know which variety of black hole spider it is :( oh well.
Looks like it was already identified but it was on my house in Blair Co. Pennsylvania. Thanks everyone, it was something I've never seen before and you guys are spot on :)
I bought a cup of hornworms as feeders, my big T's love them. They grow incredibly fast though. I have one I think is going to pupate and I'm kind of curious about that whole process so I figured I'd just let it happen. I know the caterpillar is good food, how about the moth?
lol I had a house spider in my G. porteri enclosure. One day I feed my T some large crickets and that little house spider ran down on the substrate, grabbed a cricked as large as she was then proceeded to pulley it up to the top of the lid with silk. Took a long time but was fascinating to...
Exoskeleton, I green with envy! Where did you find an antinous male!!?? Heck I can't even find slings to buy. I have one female and one I suspect is male. If you are so inclined, please keep me up to date on your breeding attempts. I absolutely love this tarantula and would love to try breeding...
17 years is a long time to care for another creature and after that long you become bonded to them and it is hard to say goodbye. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I just purchased 6 3i scorplings. They are currently in small tarter sauce cups. I was hoping to move them into 1 pint talenti ice cream jars. I have some sand/coco fiber substrate and an arch of cork board in the jars. I have small water bottle lids for water but they seem too big. (I could fit...
I can somewhat relate. I love all my spiders but one. This one particular B. boehmei I absolutely hate! I guess it's more of a "personality" thing since I have 2 of them and the other is a perfectly fine T.
Omg she is beautiful! I have wanted one for about a year but the only ones at the reptile shows I go to are normals, anacondas, and albinos. :( Definately on my to buy list.
Weighted abyss: Ty. I probably will add more, this is my first scorp and to be honest I'm a little nervous around it so I just put one piece in so I know where it is lol. As I get more comfortable with its reactions and temperament I will be able to add more stuff. I didn't think about boosting...
