Very interesting and entertaining. Scorpions have openings called spiracles that can open and close. Some species can survive 20 minutes submerged. Very problematic as some insecticides are useless because of this "seal"(I would catch them and keep them. It's ok don't freak on me :-))

Yea, I hate to say it, but if a scorpion was aware enough, it could poop on you after it stung you if it wanted to, since its anus is just before the telson, between it and the end of the metasoma. Thank goodness they aren't :) Still though, sexy pic ha ha ha leaves a lot to the imagination :woot:

I've never seen this before myself, but so long as it is a fresh kill (only two hours) the scorpion should have no problems digesting.

I like it. Very good set up. Looking a little dry though, I would mist the enclosure (taking heed not to directly mist the scorpion) once in the morning and once at night. if you start to see little bugs you may want to give all the soil a good boil. Remember to remove any scraps your scorpion...

My guest, a Heterometrus Petersii, is currently giving birth, I'm afraid that her enclosure may be too dry as I was not expecting. The enclosure has some kind of mulch in it and one of the scorplings appears to be stuck to the substrate (not shown in the pic.), the poor guy moving his legs...

I have no idea how old this scorpion is but she's fairly large and I love how well my camera picked up her glowing in the black light.
