My C. sculpturatus are friendly with each other and very active. They are out in the open half the time and exploring their enclosure at all times of day or night.
C. sculpturatus are my most active scorpions. They are usually out in the open, exploring their environment day or night. They are totally chill, not skittish at all.
Aren't you able to the the giant hercules beetle in Japan? There's some youtube videos on them.
I'm looking for giant beetles with cool looking horns, where in the U.S. can I buy some?
Interesting, didn't know that. I too got spinigerus and sculpturatus from him for an excellent price. If ya got bugs invading your home, catch em and sell em cheap to others that would love to have one.
I've never seen a male that's black with a red hourglass. Maybe we have a different species here in southern CA. The males here are small, brown with a light colored hourglass. The females are large black, with red hourglass and some even have cool white markings on the other side of the abdomen.
Really, how hard is it to just throw them in a box and send them to someone that wants them. You could even make some extra cash for minimal effort. Killing the roaches is such a waste.
I recently did this, used a metal cutting saw, took forever to cut it in half. After, I thought, ok cool, i'm pretty much done. Then I proceed to try and scoop out the meat, OMG, what a nightmare, so impossibly hard. I didn't think about boiling it like someone mentioned. Maybe I'll try it...
How communal are V. spinigerus? I ordered 5, one got eaten during shipping. When I put them in a 5 gallon aquarium, the larger one killed a smaller one. Only got 3 left :(
