    Final Molt?

Hi all, My male G. Pulchripes molted yesterday and now has tibial hooks and boxing gloves. I acquired him as a spiderling at the end of October 2010 so have only had him 2 years. Is this his last molt and can I expect him to live for another 4 years or so? Thanks.

    Brachypelma verdezi Info

I've just been watching Cocoa for the last 5 minutes and it's definately crazy. It's been trying to devour it's water dish - literally wrestling with it and trying to dig it's fangs in. The dish is only a plastic milk bottle lid, but surely by now it must realise that it's not food. I'm...

What is going on with the colour of my G. Pulchra?

Sorry they are dodgy pictures. The first was taken with my digi-camera which does tend to reflect a lot of light, and the second was taken with my Nokia mobile phone as I can't find my poxy camera! The second picture is true to Sabbath's current colour but you should be able to tell from the...

What is going on with the colour of my G. Pulchra?

Thanks for replies. He has since gone a little bit darker but whether or not he'll be as black as he was remains to be seen. Before: After:

What is going on with the colour of my G. Pulchra?

As a spiderling and a small juvenile, my G. Pulchra maintained a brown/grey colour until it's previous molt about 4 1/2 months ago when it turned a jet black. Yesterday morning it molted and is now back to a brown/grey colour. It is about 5 inches now and I'm wondering if this is a common...

    Brachypelma verdezi Info

I have 5 tarantulas, all juveniles. A G. Pulchra, G. Pulchripes, C. Cyaneopubescens, B. Albopilosum, and B. Verdezi. The B. Verdezi is about 3 inches and is the only one I would not handle. It both kicks hairs and shows threat displays and will attack anything that moves (I would hate to be my...

    Help - B. dubia Problems

I just bought some catfood for my Dubias though it wasn't exactly cheap, it was a small packet of Iams. Is the biscuity type catfood the right one (can the roaches bite bits off?), or do I need softer, moist catfood? I've also put a brick of Weetabix in there too but I've yet to see anyone...

Though you have to admit that the set-ups are pretty appalling. It looks to me like the poor B. Smithi has sand for substrate!?

    some questions about mealworms

All my aliens die, every single one of them. They just seem to go dry and shrivel up. Does anyone know why and what I can do about it? If I don't get any beetles I won't get another generation.

    G pulchra growth rate.

So it's not just my Pulchra then! I always wondered why people said they were slow growers as since I got mine last May it molted 6 times up until December. The first 5 times were all under 5 weeks, and the last time was about 7 weeks - it has now been over 15 weeks and he is still...

    whats a good name

I have a Chaco sling and will name it 'Angel' if it turns out to be a girl. If it's male, I'm not yet sure. I have 4 others: Curly Hair, GBB, B. Verdezi, and G. Pulchra. My first, the G. Pulchra, I named 'Sabbath' as it's a unisex name - though now as a juvenile I believe it to be male. The...

    Sick videos on Youtube

It amazes me how many ignorant people there are out there. Every time I go on YouTube to look for videos on Tarantula care & handling, I always seem to come across a video of someone filming a Tarantula & Scorpion or 2 Tarantulas fighting till the death, while these idiots are laughing in...
