    A. Metallica wet molt...

Oh Chris, I'm so sorry; I was really hoping she'd make it. It would've been nice for you to have a docile tarantula for a change.

Who would've guessed that P. regalis and T. blondis weren't communal?

In case anyone was thinking, "A T. blondi needs high humidty," since this was something that I read before I got this T, I was planning on partially using saran wrap or something similar to keep the majority of the humidity in. Little, useless side note.

    Planning on getting first scorp!

For some silly reason, I was having a hard time finding tons of information on these scorpions as well too. I'll definitely be eager to hear anyone's advice on care if someone has a moment to share. (Oh no! I rhymed and it was awful.)

Who would've guessed that P. regalis and T. blondis weren't communal?

Yeah, I'm sorry. I need to re-read things before I post, because I don't always write in a way that makes as much sense as it makes in my head. Definitely! It adds a lot of extra personality to the posts. {D

Cute icon btw, but I have no reason to fib.

Who would've guessed that P. regalis and T. blondis weren't communal?

I suppose it made more sense to me as I wrote it, because I am the one whose looking at the set up. The books are the lid until I buy a screened lid of appropriate size. Since I wanted the T. blondi to have at least some small amount of ventilation, there's space between the stacked books and...

Who would've guessed that P. regalis and T. blondis weren't communal?

The regalis got out while I was feeding. I always take note of where a T is (or where they must be hiding if they're not visible) and when I was putting in food, he/she was hidden by a standing piece of bark and I somehow had missed the fact that the regalis bolted. I noticed too late and...

    Found these in dubia colony....

Keeping the numbers low in the dubia bin sounds like a good idea; maybe "introduce" them slowly. Honestly though, I'm getting sick of the smell. People would say that crickets smell and roaches don't....well, the roach colonies smell less, in my experience, but it's still far from pleasant.

    Found these in dubia colony....

One more thing I should mention, don't let the beetles or the larva get loose in your house!! They supposedly kick the trash off of carpet beetles when it comes to destroying things.

    Found these in dubia colony....

Exactly. I have a culture of a bunch of dermestid beetles that I was going to introduce to my dubias in a week or so. http://skullwork.com/images/Larva%20and%20beetle.jpg Most people use them in their cricket colonies. They eat the cricket bodies to keep the smell down significantly.

Who would've guessed that P. regalis and T. blondis weren't communal?

I have news for you: A 2" P. regalis and an 8.5" T. blondi don't get along as well as you might think. I know, I expected them to be best of friends too, but the T. blondi thought the regalis looked like a tasty snack. Sorry, to be a little more serious, my little regalis escaped its...

    T on the loose!!!

Ugh, that's HORRIBLE (and great at the same time, cuz you found him/her)! My sweetheart got distracted while feeding his P. metallica and somehow walked away with the lid still off. Thankfully, I noticed before anything happened.

    The Pethole Stirreth!

Those are good sized legs for that species. This must be at least a 4" specimen, right?

To sell and trade or NOT to sell and trade. Ugly decisions.. :(

How irritating, literally. I haven't been suffering to the point of bleeding (that really sucks, Joe), but my hands have itched every night for a long time and I have this sore throat for a week and a half that I can't help but think is a related issue.

Are Tomatoes safe to feed to my roach colonies?

I've also fed them tomatoes, but they didn't seem to like them as much as other fruits I've tried. There weren't any problems after I'd fed both my dubia and lateralis colonies tomato.

    Candles/air fresheners?

I use scented reed diffusers and have found no reason to be concerned. They don't put out a large amount of scent though.
